Another hair test today 👏 I couldn’t get a large picture out since I lost the last one but this time I put darker colors under the highlights to make them pop more. I also used a different technique for the highlights, but every time I look at the shading it looks cheap. 😞 I’ll try again tomorrow

oh did I mention I’m still mad about losing it? Yeah.

since I decided I’m ok with where I’m at on my other style, I wanted to work on something different. I’m aiming to have several styles I can use interchangeably but this drawing didn’t have much of a difference. I was inspired by BlueBiscuit‘s (check her out btw she’s awesome) messy style and I attempted to use it on the shirt and skin, but nothing else turned out the way I wanted it. ill work on it.

also screw the picture quality tumblr can’t deal with it for some reason

AYE FIRST ACTUAL PHOTO IN A WHILE LETS GOOOOOO

this was a gift for my sister cuz her birthday was a couple days ago. I do like how it looks but once again the line art is irritating to look at. I’m wondering what I should do to change it. The shadowy look was fun to do though. I also had fun using complimentary colors instead of using a darker shade of the same color. It’s something I wish I’d have learned earlier.

I needed some new content to prove I’m not dead but here’s a rough background study I did for practice. I’m gonna redo it for a final piece but I think the colors I chose look pretty nice. The perspective is off though and I’d like to do the leaf dappling light thing that I see in real life.
