I didn’t forget I just went: mmh but this has a lot of angst potential, and that can be brushed off as fluttering around despite being broken.

Plus my personal idea of the broken wings hc stems more so from Orbo’s willingness to threaten Scarab’s limbs rather than solely bc they rnt shown.

Fanon brainrot has made everyone here collectively forget that Scarab canonically has wings that he uses. We can hear them flutter we just don't see them. The object permanence is on the floor!!! /lh

Also hi, I'm the author of this particular fic. I'm new to tumblr, but I plan on probably posting mostly about my hyperfixations (ofc currently it's prohibitedwish). I might sometimes share some art too, if you're lucky.

I'm sadly gonna need to take a break from the fic weekly updated for next weekend so that I can get my schoolwork together, but I'll be back to posting by thanksgiving <3

Doing art for the sake of it rather than pure improvement go brrr

I’ve never really been one to compare my art to others online. A lot of the popularly praised art tended to be realistic stuff, but I was able to brush it off because I was determined to compare my work to previous work and appreciate it for what it is. The classic stuff everyone says.

Coming across your art, I just assumed you were older and wiser because of how purely amazing it is. Only for it to now be hitting me like a truck to learn that you’re as old as me. I highly envy how much work you have been able put into continuously improving your art. It’s certainly not helping with my personal anxieties of feeling behind for where I am, but it’s just phenomenal to see.

Sorry I really don’t mean to sound bitter or anything, I guess I kinda just needed to vent. Your artwork and style are awesome, and I think that going forward I’ll be doing my best to use this newfound personal frustration to fuel some self growth rather than the easy to fall to self hate. <3

ah i get that i think, one thing ill say- constantly pushing yourself into the mindset of 'improving' and that being your main push to do art can be really tiring, instead of idolizing the concept of improvement it may be better to draw for yourself, and mix some ways of improving into it ! burning out from constantly trying to improve is extremely real. i find it a lot easier to improve when your doing something you are genuinely interested in ! you kinda forget that your tying to get better and your just creating !

sorry if this doesnt make sense- i shouldnt try 2 type out advice right after i wake up but that wont stop me !
