The night sky was full of stars, but no moon. I was currently looking at the sky while sitting on the park bench where my boyfriend Taeyong told me to meet him.

Earlier today he texted me and told me to meet him here, and it made me quite anxious. For one the text was really vague and he really didn’t tell me why we had to meet here in the park out of all places.

But I obliged and agreed to meet him here, unfortunately while waiting my mind came up with the worst possible scenarios.

To rid myself of those toxic thoughts I reminded myself of how Taeyong is such an amazing boyfriend. To this day I wonder how I ended up with someone so alluring like him. He was everything i’ve ever wanted and more, I couldn’t ask for anyone better. We’re about to make two years of being together and I truly want to spend my life with him and i’m convinced I found my soulmate.

I started to twiddle with my fingers out of habit and I sighed to myself, Taeyong probably had some extravagant date night planned for us which really isn’t something new.

The cold night breeze touched my cheeks, and I shivered.

At this point I wasn’t anxious anymore, I was now annoyed and just to curious as to why he wanted to meet here on a cold winter night, when their was a thousand other places we could’ve went to.

After what felt like years of waiting, I heard soft footsteps approaching me.

“Y/N,” Taeyong spoke gently.

I stood up and admired his beauty. Since it was so cold his pale skin became a tint of red, but he still looked so handsome. I went to go hug him, but he rejected it.

“Is everything okay?” I stammered, the concern was evident in my voice. He sat on the bench and I followed his actions, taking a seat next to him.

“Y/N, I only told you to meet me here because I need to tell you something and it’s been on my mind for a while. It’s only eating me away on the inside and I need to get it off my chest,” He conceded. My hands became clammy and my stomach knotted up. He was very serious, and I could tell because he didn’t even try to maintain eye contact with me.

“O-okay you can tell me,” I stammered.

He heavily sighed before starting to speak.

“The time i’ve spent with you has been absolutely wonderful and we’ve had some really good times together. And I-“ He starting to choke on his own words, his voice becoming weak.

“You what?” I urged.

“I think we should break up,” He spoke lowly and my blood ran cold.

I quickly stood up and looked at him wide eyes, which were now filling with tears.

He stood up aswell, but this time grabbing both of my hands.

“I’m really sorry, I really am. But I just don’t think I love you anymore. You really are such a beautiful and incredible person, so don’t think the reason i’m doing this is because you’re not enough. But sometimes things change and feelings change,” He looked into my eyes, and I felt a single tear roll down my cheek.

“Y/N, I still do really care about you, and I have faith we can still be friends in the future,” He looked at me with hopeful eyes once he mentioned the idea of still being friends.

But their was no hope in me. I was completely broken. Where there was love and light for the man I onced loved was now an aching hollowness and darkness. I removed my hands from his and placed them besides me.

“Taeyong I loved you,” I felt my whole entire world crashing, and everything around me started to spin.

“I loved you with all my heart. I was so in love with you that I forgot I even existed. Don’t even try to say we can still be friends after everything we’ve been through. The promises, the fights, worrying about your health when you failed to care about it on your own, and sometimes even putting your happiness before my own,” I rebuked as I choked back a sob.

Taeyong kept his eyes on me steady, his face full of sorrow.

“I don’t know what else to say except that i’m sorry. And I know saying that won’t make up for anything, but I really do wish the best for you,” He replied with his eyes downcast.

No longer having the strength to reply to his nonsense, I just instead scoffed and sat on the park bench with a huff.

I looked up at Taeyong and we locked eyes for one last time. His eyes held an apologetic look, but the pain he’s experiencing probably doesn’t compare to mine. He is the one that “fell out of love” with me in the first place so I have no sympathy.

“Goodbye, Y/N,” Taeyong spoke one last time before walking away, and I stared until he was out of sight.

The man I thought I would spend the rest of my life with was now gone. The one who made me feel so full of joy, is now making me feel so empty. Tears of regret filled my vision as I quietly sobbed to myself.

With my head hanging low I got up from the bench and made my way home.

I wiped the tears off my face with my sleeves, but they only became replaced with newer and fresh ones.

He was gone and their was nothing I could do, except experience one of the worst feelings in the world and one of the hardest things to describe.

And that thing was heartbreak.

(a/n : oof that was extremely short i’m sorry ;( i’m thinking about making this into a mini series though, but if i do it won’t be all angst i’ll try to make it have a happy ending. but that’s only if people want me to lol if not i’ll just leave it as it is. and i’m really sorry if this was bad, i wrote this at 2 am and the plot wasn’t really thought out hehe <33
