Like as a person I know that I should not be scouring Poshmark or Mercari for 5 eyeshadow palettes because 1) it's expensive & 2) what would I do with 5 palettes. I fixated on it though. I tried throwing them into a cart and walking away for a month. I can't even buy ~4 of them officially. I know I would be too scared to use them if I got them.

Does anyone else just really want 4 eyeshadow palettes for $100? Like I know one of thse palettes is discontinued and one was limited edition, but they weren't very popular. And I like just want releases that last longer.

Like. I mean. He called Nico and Will his sun and star. So that means he should at least have an idea about who Will is, right? And that whole "say hello to the sun and the stars for me" thing was like. wayyyyyy back in House of Hades.

But how? Since when? Did they meet? I don't think so? Did Nico talk to him about Will? About what? Why? And even so, did Will - one assumably barely present in Nico's scope at that time - can leave such an impression on him?

I just remember being in middle school and barely getting through HoH because of all the Percabeth. I bought BoO from the book fair and never actually finished because I was skipping a lot of the POVs that weren't Nico or Reyna.

It feels so weird now that my viewpoints are now too old for the target audience.

PJO (in general) is targeted and marketed for kids aged 8-12 y.o. Every single one of our criticisms for the characters, well...

The hard truth is that Rick doesn't have expectations for his targeted audience to think so deeply about the exchanges between the characters. Again, "targeted." He expects them to see it in the way he's written it. He doesn't expect them to analyse how his character's actions and words could affect another character.

The characters themselves are just teens. They're in their period where they are expected to go through a lot of changes. Most of us are already adults, but they're still teens in the books. We can judge them (characters and books) all we want with our renewed perspective as adults, but at the end of the day, Rick is continuing to write these books for his "targeted" audience. He's not going to adapt to us ageing. 😂✌️
