Well I don't know about Finn part. But the reason he acted different towards El (in comparison to Dustin and Lucas) was simply because of she was first girl to talk to him without being mean. Like they were bullied and girls used to make fun of them, and El being the first girl talking to him without being mean (+ who might also know about his missing friend) was the main reason for him to act different. Mike is such a nice character and was genuinely being kind towards her. If what you mention about Finn saying that Mike fell in love with her around episode 2 is true then, as much as I love Finn but it still wouldn't make sense. Like if u say that he was admiring her then I will agree on that (remember admiration is not equal to having crush on someone). I mean if I suddenly found a kid who somehow have this super ability of lifting things (or any other power) then I would be surprised first but later admir him/her for that. What makes soo many people (including most of Bylers) to love season 1 Mileven is because how their story was going on that particular season. Like their story was going on slowly they were trying to understand eachother and were being careful with eachother, most of Milevens didn't really understand that properly because of what Mike's monologue in season 4 ("my life started the day I found you in woods") stated, which u explained ur self to me how he meant that. Like (as u told me) Mike is a nerd lost in his own world playing games with his friends, but the day Will went missing and the day he found El, snapped him out of his own world and now he had to deal with all of this.

Like at first he was mostly confused when someone (his friends) mentioned "how he is in love with El" and he was annoyed aswell.

Which is why in my opinion them falling in love wasn't "love at first sight" but them slowly felling in love with each other.

Ok but them in this scene looked actually cute, like idc if you take it as romantic or platonic (this was pretty romantic to me)

Like ya I still don't believe in "love at first sight", and in my opinion they fell love with each other slowly and by trying to understand eachother. This whole love at "first sight" thingie is BS
