Tbona Finally Arrived In My Country, In My Language, And I Did A Very Useful Re-reading I Have A Few
tbona finally arrived in my country, in my language, and i did a very useful re-reading š„¹ i have a few points to highlight!
ā„ evangeline is a seventeen-year-old girl who has nothing in her life. she has no friends, relatives or family. she is alone. she is a deeply lonely character. in this book, what she clings to is a chance to be happy with apollo. that, to me, fully justifies her āattachmentā to him.Ā everyone judges her a lot for fighting for apollo, but she herself says that she just doesnāt want to be alone in the world. she wants to be loved and she wants to give love, and thatās not a flaw. in fact, itās a very human and real motivation.
ā„ for me jacks is a difficult character to crack and i mean that as a compliment. it makes him very interesting to me. i feel as naive as evangeline when i say that he is more than he says he is, because his actions always shows more. there are all these hints throughout the book that point out who he once was, who he tried to be and failed, and how he constantly seems to be fighting a battle with himself. i donāt know if my vision is partial, but all i can think about is that he tries to keep eva away from him and fails.
ā„ which brings me to another point: he is much more aware of the situation between them than she is.Ā to illustrate, we have the scene of lalaās party. evangeline feels crazy jealous of jacks and blames the stones and, in addition, also uses the stones to justify the jealousy he felt. meanwhile, jacks tells her that the situation between them is not going to work out. heās aware of where the two of them are heading (dare i say since ouabh.)Ā she tries to convince herself that thereās nothing going on there, but he knows. he knows what heās feeling and he knows he canāt get carried away by it.
ā„Ā which, again, reminds me of another point! from the beginning of the book, in the first few chapters, he acts affectionately. he has a genuine interest in keeping evangeline not just alive but well. he doesnāt want to put her at risk, he doesnāt want her to get hurt. (interestingly, heās such an asshole to everyone else that even his friends canāt believe he has this genuine interest in taking care of her. and he really does. despite that, chaos is aware, also since ouabh, how much jacks cares. he talks, on more than one occasion, about how evangeline affects jacks and could be the death of him.) we know he needs to keep her alive, but he doesnāt just do that. he worries. he gets to be affectionate, he helps with luc, with marisol, he gets irritated when he learns that she has been cursed, he gets offended when evangeline suspects him, heās jealous of apollo.Ā he just canāt help it, and we have this whole interesting construct of him trying to keep her at a distance but by the time they get to the hollow, he just doesnāt want to let her go anymore. he gives in to what he wanted all the time. he seems uncertain when he tells her that sheāll forget everything, and was very close to becoming the next petra and his addiction would be evangeline.Ā for evangeline is what he really wants but cannot have.
ā„ i have a few thoughts on the valor family, aurora, lysander and jacks himself, but this post might get too long. š
i just love jacks as a character, i think his story with evangeline is very well built and it makes perfect sense in my head. only smart people understand the depth of it šĀ

writing fanfiction is just. iām being so creative and original. iām plagiarizing everyone by accident. iām a genius. iām cringe. iām too angsty. iām too cheesy. this is not in character. it doesnāt matter that itās not in character because these are my characters now. i love my hobby. this is the worst possible use of my time. iām seeking validation. iām projecting my own personal problems onto this story and iām barely hiding it. i know so many words and iām using all of them wrong. im on tumblr posting about it instead of writing it.

Second book syndrome strikes again
Rewatching the interrogation of Visser in season 1, since @illictheartsĀ pointed out Zoya knew about Zlatanās plot to kill Alina and:
Yes, indeed, she was present to everything but Visserās execution.
Why didnāt she say anything to Alina? She had enough time to share her plans for future, hug Alina and act like her new bestie, but I guess mentioning theyāve just killed the guy, who stopped opening of third frontline and got rid of people, who wanted the Great Sankta dead just didnāt make it on her agenda.
What is one auntās life worth? Continuation of two lives-long wars, destruction of the only safe place for hunted minority and murder of the sole, relatively powerful person, who cares about any of it.
Speaking of which, tracking Alina took some time. Zoya has officerās training, she should know Novokribirsk isnāt safe anymore. Why didnāt she send a letter home? Yes, it could be intercepted or censored, but her aunt lives in dangerous place. They could have some sort of code by then. Hell, having relatives in one of centres of separatist effortsās dumb af at least.
We can clearly see Zoya will make an amazing Queen. Selfless, willing to face hard choicesā¦
Why arenāt there any gifs of Ivan from this part? Heās hilarious to watch!
Iād pay real money to watch comedic duo of The Black General and His Loyal Henchman.
I wonāt even start about the Crows also knowing all about Zlatan. Theyāre slave traders in the show. If theyād say anything, Alina might realize what they wanted her for. Better not risk it.
