Hate It When A Show's "comic Relief Character" Is Literally Just A Nice Dude That Gets Bullied
Hate it when a show's "comic relief character" is literally just a nice dude that gets bullied
Especially when it's their family being assholes like why don't you like your kid? Why is everyone okay with it?
It's always in kids shows and there's always some kind of "do you guys actually like me" moment where everyone just looks at eachother like šš¬ and I don't get why
1. We put that shit in kids shows? And get shocked when kids are mean to eachother?
2. That's such a popular troupe? Like it can be a good storyline but they never treat it like it actually is bullying
3. Whenever they stand up for themselves they either get laughed at for it or they take it back like "okay nevermind we're fine š"

I just scrolled through instagram reels long enough that I got confused by AO3 tags omfg. There was the character tag "___ (minor)" and I just stared at it for like three minutes trying to figure out why they made her a minor.
Does anyone else make really controversial posts and just stick em in the drafts for like a month? I've got like 3 really political posts in there and I have no intention of posting any of them but I needed them out of my head
It's so funny that both Galinda and Elphaba immediately go "oh this girl makes me feel really warm and flustered. It's probably because I hate her? Idrk that makes the most sense" but god it's so in character for both of them.
I see people judging because of how obvious it was that they didn't really hate eachother but like
1- as if either of them would know what a lesbian is? We'd have "ofc I like men doesn't everyone? That's the normal thing to feel??" Vs "wdym I like her? Why would that make me flustered??" Rich people pleaser vs neglect & self loathing.
2- Galinda wouldn't have had that kinda feelings for anyone yet but also wouldn't have hated anyone (at least that much) yet. So when she got the feels she absolutely would've gone "oh that's weird it's probably hate? It's a girl so idrk"
3- Elphie is way more used to negative feelings and people hating her than she's used to liking people. She gets strong feelings about someone, she assumes it's just hate.
4- Do people forget that they didn't get along even before that song? Elphie thinks Galinda is spoiled, Galinda thinks Elphie is weird. It's not like they got those feelings immediately, it was after they already decided they didn't like eachother. It's not like you would fight with someone and then go "wow my face is red and my hearts beating really fast, I must like them!" Like come on guys, context??
Like yeah looking back on it it was obvious they liked eachother but those are also all things that happen when you really hate someone?
I'm back into descendants so āØpoll timeāØ
I really struggled between Harry and Carlos ngl (I went for Harry). Feel free to tell me who you pick, or anyone I should have added <3
If the descendants fandom finds this then I might be posting more stuff, and there'll probably be a poll for the gals too
(I'm not including Dude or any of the parents, this is just for the kids)
about gelphie: I know maguire went viral for writing āGELPHIE IS REALā when signing someoneās book, but gelphie isnāt āofficialā in the books. Like, they never explicitly ādate.ā Elphaba kisses Glinda on the mouth, and they āsleep togetherā on the way to the EC, but Iād say itās a stretch calling them āofficialā in the books - and Iām a Gelphie shipper myself!!
I kinda assumed that they never actually went out, I don't think they would've had time to try while keeping that storyline tbh.
When I said official I meant that they kissed, as like a "oh they actually did have feelings" and as "they're officially queer". Like officially lgbtq not officially dating if that makes sense :)
Sorry if the post didn't sound like what I meant and thank you for giving me more information! I haven't read the book yet (I have it, I just don't read much) so I'm going off the musical and what I've heard people say.
Generally if a ship kisses, it gets called official because they do officially like eachother iykwim
