Ok, was there a parallelism between Ruby's goodbye and Rose's in Bad Wolf bay or was I just traumatised by Billie Piper saying "am I ever going to see you again?" And "I love you" and The Doctor proceeding to cry alone in his TARDIS?

“Blitz is more wrong, Stolas is more wrong”

Blitz is able to recognize what he did wrong and how it affected others but struggles with how to fix it. He knows exactly what he did to Verosika and the countless other people he’s hurt. He knows how terrible they felt because if he didn’t, he wouldn’t hate himself so much. However, he uses his self loathing as an excuse and refuses to confront it. He self-sabotages and adopts an asshole persona to cope. Blitz’s self-awareness comes from taking accountability through introspection, not action.

Stolas is able to recognize what he did wrong and how to fix it but struggles to understand how it affected others. He knows he made a mistake taking Octavia to Loo Loo Land and setting up the Deal with Blitz, so he apologizes to Octavia and breaks off the Deal with Blitz. However, he doesn’t grasp that Octavia is upset because she felt neglected by him there, or that Blitz was uncomfortable with Stolas’ unconscious fetishization of him. Stolas’ self-awareness comes from holding himself accountable by taking action, not by introspecting.

A character who ignores problems is no better than a character who cannot fully grasp their weight. Put them in a room together, let alone have them fall in love, and you get oil and water. Both Stolas and Blitz are morally grey. You can argue about who is more wrong and who is more right until you’re blue in the face and you’ll just be tying yourself into knots. And you know what? That’s phenomenally written miscommunication.
