Welcome to Chimney Positivity Weekend on the 25th - 27th Feb 2022

Let’s celebrate who Chimney actually is, away from the bashing and the anti-Chimney discourse that is prominent at the moment. This is a weekend to celebrate everything he is, everything that the past five seasons has given us, by way of making the Chimney tag on here and A03 a safe place for those who love him, again. 

The below prompts cover all creations, from fic writing to gif making, to edits and videos, anything that inspires you. Chimney does not have to be the focal point in stories, as I understand we all have our characters that we want to focus on or that we are comfortable focusing on, but rather just a reflection of who he is as a character and what he means to the other characters. So, basically anything and everything that spreads joy and positivity about Chimney. Nothing is off limits; crack ships, whump, angst, whatever brings you joy as a creator and whatever inspires you. 

Day One: Favourite relationship(s) between Chimney and other characters. 

Day Two: Favourite character trait(s) Chimney displays. 

Day Three: Something you wish we had seen more or can see more of in the future (a storyline, a rescue, a friendship etc)

There are no rules beyond tagging #ChimneyPositivityWeekend and making you sure you use the character tag on here and A03. There’s no limit to what you can write and/or create, this is just about spreading some joy in this fandom about a character who shares some amazing relationships and stories with every character in the show.

i’ve seen two episodes of the x-files but i already know that at least the first two seasons are going to be mulder going “it’s ALIENS, scully!” and scully going “it’s not fucking aliens, mulder!” and them being exasperatedly fond of each other

I’ve seen this new trend of girls posting videos like “I hate my boyfriend for bringing all of his stupid boy things into our apartment when we moved in together 🙄” and then pictures of his hot wheels collection or a Halloween skeleton or an extremely cool pirate flag. Give him to me you do not deserve him.

Not trying to call Netflix out, but what the hell Netflix!!! I was in the middle of watching an episode of NCIS when I got that something went wrong notification. Refreshed the page and all of a sudden I have a new profile pic, and all but one of my continue watching is left. So not only did you get rid of my profile pic, but you got rid of NCIS with no warning?!?! I’m so mad right now. Now how am I gonna finish my NCIS marathon!!!! 😭😤

encanto facts & other information gathered from the books ( book havers please correct me if i got any wrong + feel free to add in other things that i missed!)

→ deluxe junior novelization by angela cervantes (retelling of the movie with scenes/dialogue that didnt make it into the final cut. i think i once saw someone make a screenplay ver of it for ppl who can't get the book but ive yet to confirm)

→ the tale of three sisters by anika fajardo (another retelling of the film but this time from the perspective of mirabel, luisa, isabela !! ive seen ppl like this one the most since they rlly do expand upon luisa & isabela's characters)

during alma and agustín’s argument, when she yells out “think of the family!” agustín replies with “she’s [mirabel] my daughter, does she not count?”

pepa is an incredibly caring mother who supports her children completely.

there’s a scene after mirabel was discovered and the family were apologizing to e/o where dolores & camilo confessed their insecurities: “sometimes rather than just listening, i'd like to speak too” and “i’m good at changing & i want to change in other ways… maybe i can finally be myself” respectively (those aren’t the exact quotes, but they’re the essence of their confessions)

while rebuilding casita, dolores was constantly talking and mariano did nothing but listen attentively to her.

dolores was still the one who overheard the prophecy, but it was camilo who revealed it during the dinner scene !!

isabela and camilo were chasing after mirabel when casita was falling apart, not the candle (edit: apparently d*sney confirmed it somewhere im not completely certain if it was thru the books, but also the director said on twt that camilo & isabela were chasing after the miracle so im not sure which one’s the truth ,, the latter leads to some interesting character analyses but i still personally prefer the former)

isabela sprouts out daisies whenever she’s nervous!!!!!

luisa’s ears turn red whenever she’s embarrassed or lying!!!!!

dolores & isabela are close w/ one another!!!!!

isabela says that mirabel’s ceremony was one of the saddest days of her life.

isabela treated mirabel like that bc she was jealous of her

since her sister doesn’t have powers, she envies the fact that she doesn’t have to shoulder the burden of maintaining perfection and abuela’s approval…

since isabela cares deeply about what others think about her, agustín standing up for mirabel after the dinner scene made her feel like he favors her.

when antonio says “i need you” luisa thought he was talking to her (since it’s a phrase that she often hears directed @ her) and before she could approach him, julieta stops her.

agustín & félix are Best Friends who r both musicians (piano & tiple respectively)

félix taught dolores how to play the tiple!!!!!

félix enjoys making people laugh/smile (like father like son fr)

luisa is afraid of the dark :(((

luisa’s only able to focus on one thing at a time

during the scene where pepa was hyperventilating, she wasn’t worried because of the ruined proposal, but because of the thought of losing her gift.

camilo shared the same worry that mirabel might make him lose his, as well, but pushed his own emotions aside to comfort his mom.

pepa was often told to bottle her emotions up because of her powers, which felt like hell because she wanted to do nothing but cry when bruno left (she missed her brother dearly)

sometimes bruno’s visions hurt so much and he can’t do anything to control them, so sometimes he’s forced to repeat the same prophecies

when casita was crashing down, dolores originally had to save antonio from his room. it proved to be a worrisome task since he could barely hear anything.

mirabel kept a smile on her face after her ceremony but dolores knew that it was a façade esp since she heard her crying in the nursery

i think this is the ending in one of the books, but there’s one scene where after casita gets fixed, the madrigals surprise mirabel with her own door that’s decorated with symbols that represent each member—like the ones embroidered on her skirt !! one of the posters for the movie had a door which seems to share the exact description as in the book.
