2014 - The Year of Getting Things Done
I always pick a theme for the coming year on my birthday since it's in December and, as far as I'm concerned, a new year for me begins on my birthday.
This one's turned out to be particularly prophetic. And hard. And wonderful. And exhausting. And we're only 4 months in.
I can't imagine what's going to happen in the next 4 months
Phoenix - If I Ever Feel Better
The perfect song for the early morning commute on a half empty train carriage with other bleary-eyed, half-asleep people drudging off to an office job in a building with windows that don't open.
At least you can start your day with the right kinda music to make the world seem brighter
Few things have killed my spirit more than working in a call centre.
Never again
Please fire me. I work in a call center and people yell at me because the television in their second guest room doesn’t work.
Game of Thrones is starting again tonight!
I'm so excited. So let's revisit the most badass scene from last season. Daenerys gets an army and proves herself to be ruthless, manipulative and a natural born Queen.
All hail the Khalessi! God, I fucking love her
In mid-2010 I lived in an enormous, damp and freezing flat in Aro Valley, Wellington. An area heavily populated by (and smelling strongly of) hippies and students
My flatmates were 3 girls. Together we stayed up too late, ate too little, stuffed too much into our days. We suffered through a Wellington winter, shitty people and being perpetually broke.
But most importantly we laughed and bitched about everything, drinking wine we couldn't afford while loudly singing and dancing about to this song all night long before running off to our lives in the morning.
These are the kinds of memories you look back on with fondness.
