I didn’t know he actually said “fucking” not “bloody”

I have been sat here for almost a week wondering WHY ON EARTH they’d have Lestat use the word “bloody”

Since my first watch-through of episode one, that was the line that took me out the most. It didn’t make sense for his character.

1.) Louis has never used the word “bloody” on the show before, so it wasn’t like a “Lestat mimicking Louis bc he’s actually all in Louis’ head” kind of thing

2.) And Lestat has never used the word “bloody” on the show before (in that context), so it wasn’t like a “Lestat acting as Louis remembered him bc he’s actually all in Louis’ head and so he’s only as faithful to the original as Louis can recall” kind of thing

I pondered and pondered. The meat mused pettily.

My conclusion was that they must’ve been trying for campy irony, and the word choice of “bloody” was simply bc this is, after all, a vampire show. Get it? It’s funny cuz they drink blood.

But now, I’m sitting here in throes of increasing wonder… and all for a single word.
