another xmas present i crafted! so she’s a doll & pin cushion…her skeleton is wire so she’s bendy, her body is felt stuffed with scrap yarn/thread etc. (cuz recycling is ✨ s e x y ✨ ), her head is polymer clay painted with acrylic, her hair is also scrap yarn, and i crocheted her dress and hat! the lil mushroom was also crocheted and has steel wool in it so that it sharpens your needles 🪡 💕

god the mad scientist trope is so trans. the lone figure- partaking in the act of creation, the innovation of body and flesh, seen as monstrous and unnatural by wider society. rejecting societal rules and embracing radical science- the creation becoming the creator. transforming what once was to something so other, and it is magnificent. it is so horrible, it is so beautiful, it is me.

Our little community contains so much anger and grief, but it's because we love each other so fiercely. We remember our dead because their memory keeps us stubborn.
