Please Help Us Get Our Lives Back
Please help us get our lives back
My name is Marah, an aspiring computer engineering student. I dreamed of completing my studies and working in the field that I love. She enjoys spending long hours studying.
But the war deprived me of my ambitions
And my dreams and my studies
My university was demolished, as was my home
I no longer have any dreams or ambitions
Your help may restore hope in completing my studies abroad
Any donation could make a difference in our lives and give us hope

Help Mahmoud Baalou save his living family members from Gaza!
[Image description: a screeshot of a tumblr ask sent by user @freepaleatine95. It contains the following text. Hello dear, I am from the Baalousha family from Gaza. I hope you are well. I write to you with a heart full of hope and faith, and I ask for your urgent help. My family is in great danger due to the war, and I am running a fundraiser campaign to save them. My father and mother suffer from diabetes and high blood pressure. Help me secure them. Please, can you reblog my campaign post on my account? Every participation can make a difference in my family's life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any help you can provide. End description]
Mahmoud Baalou is running a fundraiser, which has been vetted by @/90-ghost, to get his living family members out of danger. His mother has diabetes and his father has both diabetes and high blood pressure, so it's really urgent that we can raise the funds to get them out. We have managed to raise $7,481 out of the $50,000 goal and there have been $70 raised in the last 24 hours, so we need to pick up the pace. Please boost this and donate if possible!

🇵🇸 Help Marah's family restore their lives!
I want to introduce you to the Baloushaa family, who are currently living in Gaza. The family lived in a beautiful house, and Mahmoud owned a shoe store that was doing well. Marah (@freepaleatine95) was studying computer engineering at Al-Azhar University, a subject she has a lot of interest and passion in. Mahmoud's business was successful and Marah's studies were going excellently. Their parents were proud of them for all they accomplished, and they had great dreams for their futures.
But even before the recent aggression starting on October 7th, this family had experienced profound loss. They lost their older brother in 2006, a stark reminder that the violence inflicted on Palestinians did not start within the past year, but has been a continued effort to wipe out their people. With the most recent escalation in violence, this family has been forced to experience loss again. They lost the beautiful house they lived in, and they lost the kittens that they cared for dearly. Mahmoud's business was destroyed as well as Marah's University and their lives have been frozen.
The picture above is their current living situation, they are trying to survive without proper shelter, exposed to the weather and illnesses. Their mother and father both suffer from diabetes, and their father has high blood pressure, the medicine for which is near impossible to obtain in Gaza. As winter approaches and the temperature drops, they will need proper clothing, blankets, and a heater. Their ultimate goal is to move the family to Egypt so they can access proper care for their parents, Marah can continue university, and they can rebuild their lives.
$10,393 / $50,000
Verification: the old account was shared by 90-ghost here. The GFM linked in this post is the same as the one above.
Marah ( @freepaleatine95 ) asked me to make a post about her campaign! Here’s the link to the verified campaign, which has $13,942/$50,000. The family is only a little over 1/5 of the way to their goal after months of campaigning, so please donate if you can! Please reblog/share the fundraiser regardless of whether or not you can donate so that it continues to get donations.

Here is a little bit about Marah and her situation:
Marah and her family (mother, father, brother, and young nieces) have been enduring nightmarish conditions for almost a year now. They have lost practically everything: their home, jobs, and pets. The family hopes to evacuate to Egypt so they can be safe, find comfortable living conditions, get necessities such as medical treatment for their sickly and elderly parents, and continue Marah’s education.
In their current situation, their tent has been ruined and rain water has soaked in. With winter coming, the family needs funds to stay warm during the winter as well as evacuate. The cost for evacuation is roughly $5000 per person, so keep in mind the expenses of evacuation and the size of the family. The evacuations costs do not cover the funds the family needs for their day-to-day life and to deal with various struggles, like with the upcoming winter, so the fundraiser goal is a bit higher than a basic evacuation cost since the family has these additional needs for things like warmth and shelter as well.
I apologize if I missed anything or messed up any details! Here’s a handful of other post that talk about Marah and her family’s situation to provide a little more depth and fill in any missing details: https://www.tumblr.com/a-shade-of-blue/762631452518121472/donate-to-please-save-whats-left-of-my-family
Here is the proof of verification:
This is a verified campaign, verified by @/90-ghost since July 28th on her old account @helpfamily, which has since been deactivated but contains the exact same fundraiser.
Additionally, I personally reverse image searched every image I could find on Marah’s blog. All of Marah’s images turn up to be original besides from these three:
but they are generic images of destruction and art of Hello Kitty standing with Palestine, likely to catch people’s attention and be used as examples to help people understand the situation in Gaza. Nowhere in her posts does Marah claim to have taken or made these three images herself, so these three images having other original sources does not disprove this campaign’s validity.
Like I said, all other images are original. Most importantly, the personal ones, such as images of Marah, the family’s life before, and the family cats, all link back to only her campaign, her Tumblr accounts, and various reblogs of her campaign on Tumblr, supporting the claim that this is original.
She also showcases several videos on her blog, which are incredibly difficult to fake. The reverse image search also indicates Marah has been campaigning since July 27th, which is just one day shy of being three months ago.
Given that Marah’s campaign is nearly three months old, her campaign has been verified by 90-ghost for nearly three months as well, her personal images are all original, and she supplies videos of the situation, I feel entirely confident that this is legitimate. Marah and her family are real people in need of help. This campaign has been confirmed to be verified on several fronts for months now, so please don’t be afraid to donate if you are able to!
Marah, I hope your campaign meets its goal quickly and you all are able to evacuate soon! I wish the best for you and your family in these difficult times! I really hope this helps!
there’s a thunderstorm over my house right now. as loud as the lightning is, it and the rainfall are ultimately set dressing, and i’m warm and dry inside.
there was a storm over palestine today, too. for marah, a college student like me, the rain meant a flooded tent, waterlogged flour. mud and wet feet and chill. no shelves to protect precious belongings from the damage.
here’s my post linking to the baalou family’s fund. please spread this around— conditions become critical as quickly as a storm comes.
