Ace x simp reader headcanons (+ short scenario)

Summary: Ace x simpy reader. Warnings: Fluff. Mentions of NSFW themes and slightly suggestive at the end (but barely). Reader is gender-neutral. Word count: 525

I feel like Ace is someone who struggles a lot with self-worth (obviously) so he’s not super used to receiving affection… Until he meets you. 

When you two started dating you’d constantly make him SO flustered from the smallest things without even meaning to.

You hold his hand? He’s blushing. Kiss his cheek? He’s blushing. You tell him he looks sooo handsome in his new shirt? He’s losing his mind. 

He tries his best to show you his feelings back at you because he loves you SO much but he gets so shy when you compliment him.

At first he genuinely struggles to understand how you could feel that way about him, but the more you show him the more confident he gets about it. 

After you two have dated for a few months he gets so used to it, he might actually start jokingly bragging about it.

Someone on the ship starts talking about how they had a threesome on the last island y’all visited and Ace is all like “Oh yeah? Well get fucked because I have my very own simp, betcha can’t beat that.” with a stupid smirk on his face. 

Eventually starts “simping back at you” and pinches your cheeks telling you how cute/handsome you are, or picking you up in a hug while spinning around telling you how much he loves you.

Honestly, I feel like this is the type of love that Ace needs. Unconditional, sappy love. 

“Oh! Y/N! I’ve been looking for you!” Ace smiles at you as you board the ship. You’d been doing some essential shopping with Marco on the island you were docked at while Ace stayed behind to guard the ship (not that anyone dared to mess with the Whitebeard pirates…).

“Ace!!!” you drop your things carefully as you run up to him and give him a big hug, putting your face in his neck and squeezing his body to yours. As you pull away you give him a kiss on the cheek.

“I got you some yummy-looking fruits while I was out! I think you’ll like them!” you smile at him and give him another kiss on the nose. You see his blush spread on his face despite the smirk he's holding with his lips. 

“Oh yeah? Well how could I ever say no to something my dear Y/n bought me?” he says as he starts leaning in for a proper kiss. Right before he can reach you though, he gets hit in the face with a paper towel. You look behind you and see Marco with a deadpan face, another paper towel ready in his hand to throw.

“Oi, can you two stop simping for each other and start helping loading in the groceries instead?” 

Ace rolls his eyes and playfully chucks the paper towels back at Marco who catches it with ease.

“Whatever man, sorry I have a beautiful partner and you don’t” he says as he picks up one of the bags you left on the ship’s floor. “Come on, Y/n, let’s get this done and over with so we can go somewhere private, yeah?”.

Ace

. When you you came up beside Ace he did not expect the following slap of your hand on his ass.

. His eyes went wide as you grinned at him, hand still firmly cupping his butt cheek.

. “Hey handsome,” You said, that smile growing wider. “I’m looking forward to seeing these shorts on the bedroom floor later!" 

. Ace goes bright red - florescent, even.

. Around him the crew members in earshot all start to laugh and chuckle - not even at what you said, just the look on his face.

. "N-N-Name!” He stutters, embarrassment flooding his whole being. “What’re you- don’t!”

. You grin, give his butt a squeeze before walking away, glancing over your shoulder to see him with his head in his hands as one of his crewmates comes over to congratulate him, still laughing.

. Later that evening he will come into your shared room, and as soon as he sees you he will pout and a light blush will ghost over his cheeks.

. “So, uh,” He’ll say, scratching the back of his head. “What you said earlier, did you still want to.." 

. In answer you stand and walk over to him, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him in to a deep kiss. 

. Involuntarily Ace will start to warm up, pulling you against himself while starting to tug off your clothes. 

. You unbuckle his belt, shimmying his shorts down his legs, smirking into the kiss as you hear the material hit the floor.

. Ace pulls back and gives you a mock frown, "Oi, don’t laugh, that was really embarrassing earlier! Everyone heard!" 

. "So what?” You purr, dipping your hand into his boxers. “Let them hear!”

Sanji

. Sanji is washing the plates after dinner when you round the table and come to stand beside him.

. “Ne, Sanji-Kun, Dinner was really good!” You tell him, your hand ghosting down his back to his butt, giving him a small slap. “Can I have you for dessert?”  

. You step back as the torrent of blood erupts from his nose, his eyes bursting will little hearts at your words. 

. The crew members that remained at the tabled after dinner - Luffy, Nami, Robin and Usopp- look up. Robin covers her mouth to hide a giggle, Nami smirks and Usopp looks away with a blush.

. “Oi, Name! What did you say about dessert!” Luffy demands, a pout on his face as he turns to look at Sanji. “Sanji! I want dessert too!”

. “Sanji-kun can make pudding for us later,” Nami says, a look of amusement on her face as she pat’s Luffys hand. “Hes got other things to do now.”

. You take the still swooning cook by the hand, pulling him along behind you out of the kitchen, muffling Luffys protests.

. Once you reach your room Sanji snaps out of it, his cheeks still red, but hes grinning.

. “Do you really want me for dessert, name-chwan?” He asks, gently placing his hands on your hips, pulling you towards him.

. “Definitely,” you say, smiling as to push him down on to the bed.

. You slowly unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his chest, a wicked grin on your face “Now, where shall I taste first?”

Coby

. Coby is giving orders when you walk over to him.

. The marines assembled in front of him all salute and turn to begin whatever objectives he has just set out for them, but all of them stop, their heads turned back when they hear the slap.

. Coby freezes in place, goes completely rigid when he feels your hand on his ass.

. His face goes the same shade as his hair, quickly darkening till he looks like a tomato.

. To his left Helmeppo snorts back a laugh and you can see some of the other marines trying to hold back their laughter, looking away with tears in their eyes.

. “Are you my orders Captain?” You question, face placid as he stutters and stammers, too embarrassed to form any coherent words. “I’m more than happy to do you.”

. Coby grabs your wrist and drags you away, stopping only when he knows the two of you are alone.

. He turns to you, drags his hands down his face, completely out of his depth and let’s out a groan.

. “Name-San! What were you thinking?” He asks, looking both defeated and mortified. “You can’t do things like that in front of the crew.”

. “Things like what?” You ask, smiling sweetly.

. “You.. you,” he tries but cant bring himself to say it. He puts his hands over his face again and let’s out a sigh.

. You take his wrists and pull his hands away, pressing a light kiss to his lips which once again increases the intensity of his blush

. “We cant do this here, Name-San!” He tells you, already leaning in to your next kiss.

. When you pull away you smile “Then you should order me to your quarters, Captain. Otherwise the crew is in for quite a show.”

. You see his internal debate. He wants to do all the things he knows you’re thinking about, but if the two of you disappear then the whole crew will know.

. Hes so embarrassed.

. Ultimately though Coby knows what’s going to happen, so when you drag him back to his room and start trailing kisses all over him, he resigns himself to the thought that the whole crew know what’s happening.

Sabo should be half blind canonically. And i need a gag with zoro’s poor depth perception, too.

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need to Ask For Help, It's On Garp

i always hate when i see comments about how ace was an idiot or ace should have just asked garp for help because, no? like dawg wtf do you mean?

the one thing we have been told repeatedly across the manga and anime is that ace could have lived his entire life being perfect and he still would have ended up on that podium

he could have become a marine, a police officer, a teacher, a chef and all of that would have been reduced to nothing the moment his parentage was discovered

yes, ace became a pirate of his own volition, but sengoku never mentioned his piracy

he never mentioned all the criminal activity ace did as the captain of the spade pirates or even later as the second division leader of the whitebeard pirates

you know what sengoku did bring up though the moment he got on that damn podium? ace's parentage

he mentions nothing that gained ace his bounty to begin with when he gets that den den mushi in his hand. why?

because it doesn't matter that ace is a pirate. what matters is that they are eradicating the last gol d roger's bloodline

bear in mind that they were killing pregnant women and young children who could have even had the slightest possibility of being roger's lover or kin

akainu deadass says that he doesn't care if every other pirate at marineford escapes as long as ace and luffy died and he would ensure their deaths personally. and for what? not their piracy. none of their crimes. not even for ensuring that the truth that certain countries and lands that were actually saved by pirates instead of the marines never got out

but because their fathers were gol d roger and monkey d dragon respectively

solely because of that, he deemed neither of them deserved to live

and as far as garp goes - i love garp as much as the next person but garp has never done anything for ace to trust him enough to ask for help even if he felt he deserved to ask

garp's negligent parenting coupled with the abusive words ace grew up hearing led ace to believe he didn't even deserve to be born. when he even asks garp if his being born was a good thing, garp can't even tell him 'yes'. he just says 'time will tell'. my brother in the blue seas, that is an elementary schooler questioning his right to exist

ace is defeated by blackbeard in episode 325 (chapters 434-441), luffy hears about his execution being set in episode 416 (chapter 522) and then finally ace is killed in episode 483 (chapter 574). that is 158 episodes and 140 chapters total and in that time what ace receives from garp are conversations that boil down to

"you did this to yourself"

"i just wanted you to become a fine marine"

"i don't have sympathy for criminals but i do have sympathy for family"

and garp actively preventing those who wish to save ace from reaching him. yes after akainu strikes ace, garp does react viscerally with instinct to protect his grandson, but that's too little too damn late at that point

garp having his moral dilemmas mean nothing when, however long ace spent in impel down, he isn't trying to help him

garp having his 'wishing things had been different' thoughts mean nothing when garp is preventing people from saving his grandson

there's a reason garp lets dadan beat and berate him when they reunite in windmill village and it's because he knows she's right

over the course of 20 years, garp has consistently chosen work over ace and luffy. as much as i love dadan and co, bandits are not a good choice to have raise your grandkids and then be the surprised pikachu meme when neither of them wish to become marines

garp's inability to see past the system he disdains yet clings onto actively shoots him in the foot

prevents him from seeing that ace is right when he says he never could have become a marine

luffy could have never become a marine. i do hear arguments saying that luffy might have had a fair chance considering garp is biologically his grandfather but i say that's truly up in the air considering how, even with that knowledge, akainu still wants to put luffy on a poster

but that's all to say, asking why ace never asked garp for help is ridiculous

the fuck would ace look like asking the man who has done nothing but

unintentionally fostered ace's resentment towards luffy in their early childhood

told ace it was his own fault he landed where he did

falcon punched marco halfway across marineford

for help?

and that's not even mentioning the fact that up until that point, ace didn't believe he deserved to live. he didn't think he had the right to exist. the only thing that kept him going up until that point was hoping he'd find an answer that justified his being born and his love for luffy and sabo. ace tells luffy in his dying breaths if it weren't for the two of them, he would have gave up on living a long time ago

yes, garp loves ace and luffy

he loves them both dearly but he is also incapable of putting them before work, before his ideals of justice. these two truths can coexist at the same time. garp's stubborn to a fault and his moral dilemma resulted in both inaction and the prevention of ace's escape

so to say that marineford would have gone differently if ace had asked is seriously undermining the character work. because in reality, it's up in the air on whether or not that would have done anything. ace asking garp for help could have gone either way and that's the beauty of the gray area regarding garp's actions during the summit war

and yes, i can get why it's frustrating that ace turned around to fight akainu when he could have just left and got it back in a blood a different time

but aside from ace having a temper about specific topics, we do get an answer as to why he couldn't bring himself to runaway when we finally are able to dive into his past with luffy and sabo:

he doesn't want to run away from any situation because ace is deathly afraid of losing something if running away ends up being the bad call

and in that moment, luffy was behind him

even if akainu hadn't talked down whitebeard, ace would have inevitably turned back around because he wouldn't have been able to shake his fear of losing something or someone he cared about

as long as there is something precious for him to potentially lose, ace will never run

he was doomed from the start

his being the son of gol d roger doomed him from the start

and that's what makes ace so tragic
