Agatha Makes A Snort At How Sure He Sounds About Her Not Being Able To Bake. " Oh, No No, I-i S-said

agatha makes a snort at how sure he sounds about her not being able to bake. " oh, no no, i-i s-said i wouldn't bake anything f-for you, cash. i'll be baking things for m-m-myself still. " she states, sounding quite sure of herself now. she's baked enough to know how to halve or third recipes! she can easily enough bake enough to enjoy on her own. should there be anything left over, agatha can hide it from cash. he'll just have to deal with store-bought sweets until two months are up!
her eyes narrow at him again. she's staring at him real hard. agatha finally lets herself relax, her arms falling away from her chest to rest at her sides. " m-maybe so. i-i'd p-p-probably run from the house. " was it an amusing thought? maybe a little. cash would probably find it quite funny. " i-if i were the person b-breaking into the home, i-it— i-it'd m-make me think twice about doing it again. " agatha laughs, giving a slight nod. " regardless, i-i'm n-not letting you equip a-any roombas, both legal a-and i-illegal, with knives or p-programming them that way. w-we're keeping one. "

“aggie - i love you but… are you really tryna threaten me that you ain't gonna bake for two months?” there's a smirk playing on his lips. “pressing x. hard x. capital fuckin' x, if you would. no fuckin' way you'd last that long. especially cause my favorite is a-ny-thing you make. think you could handle that? i'd like to see you try.” he folds his arms, brows raising. he's got the smug aura about him that often lands him with people swinging for his face.
“but nah, really, ain't doin' shit to make ya swear. not my style. see - i just like roombas. honest truth.” he puts his hands up in a surrender pose, arching a brow with a lopsided grin. “that and would it not freak you out to have alexa tell you ‘you have chosen death’, play doom music, and suddenly the house is full of roombas going full tilt? like just one of 'em makes noise - imagine the stereo vrrrrrmmmm on that.”

she can believe that hearing such a thing might be a first for him. he's quite the intimidating individual, and she remembers feeling that way in the beginning of their friendship. still, agatha was somehow able to push past that feeling and was able to become friends with nnoitra. " well, i kind of was, at first, but... i don't know, i just had a gut feeling that i could trust you. woman's intuition, if people still call it that. " she says with a soft laugh. regardless of what it was called, it was a feeling agatha listened to, and it very rarely steered her wrong.
" oh, i'm not afraid of much these days. i still run into pushy guys that try to get my number or try to get me to go home with them but, " agatha scrunches her nose a little, " usually they back off after a bit. there's only been a few instances where that has made me uncomfortable. just... guys who won't take 'no' or 'sorry, i'm not interested' for an answer. " not that any one of them have tried to do anything to her, it just made agatha wary, especially whenever she had to walk anywhere at night.
sometimes she'd have the misfortune of having to walk home after work.
agatha's smile returns and she looks back up at nnoitra. " but i'd be sure to call or text if someone just won't leave me alone. " she assures him, giving a nod. she would very much like to feel like someone has her back in moments like that, rather than worrying that being so firm and insistent won't work. agatha knows she would feel safer in that moment of him coming to her rescue. nnoitra never gave her a reason to feel or be scared, so why wouldn't she feel safe when they're together? he's never raised his voice to her in anger, never attempted to hurt her physically or emotionally. so no, she feels very comfortable and at ease when she's near him.
❝ Hell yeah I do. ❞ Nnoitra grinned eagerly. Having a girlfriend who could cook would be an insane upgrade in his life. Sure, he'd gotten better at cooking, but he was still a not-even-level-1 cook, so getting home-cooked meals on the regular... Man, he'd love that. He was used to living off heat-up meals or take-away, which definitely wasn't the healthiest diet.
He wondered why she was flattered that he'd wanna protect her. She seemed almost embarrassed about it, as she looked away and rubbed her cheek. To Nnoitra, it was a GIVEN that he'd keep her safe. It was the ONE SERVICE he should be able to provide as a boyfriend. Hell, even if they were just friends, that was STILL his job, since he was a man and she was just a woman. If he couldn't protect her, then he was a failure as a man, and that - that he would never allow. From her words, it almost sounded like she was surprised that he'd want to protect her.
He didn't comment on it, since he figured there was a big chance he was misreading the situation.
She looked back at him eventually, and she was smiling again.
I've always felt safe around you.
Now it was his turn to look surprised, his squinty eye a tiny bit wider than usual. --- What? Safe? And comfortable? Around HIM? Not that he'd ever ( at least he didn't think? ) given her a reason to be afraid of him. He'd never displayed aggression or raised his voice to her ( just because she'd never given him a reason to ). Still, he knew he gave off a hostile vibe. He made others uncomfortable. It had always been like that. It didn't bother him. In fact, he rather enjoyed it. But, of course, he wouldn't want his partner to be afraid of him.
❝ 'Daz a first. ❞ He said, eventually. He didn't try to hide his surprise. ❝ Ain't nobody told me that before. Usually people are scared 'a me. ❞ Maybe that was a cliche for some, but it was just the truth. She'd never seen the frightening side of him. Because she didn't bring it out. Was that one of the reasons why they got along so well? Nnoitra wondered what would happen if she ever DID get to see that side of him. He didn't want that to happen. ❝ What'cha scared 'a? What do I need 'ta protect ya from? ❞ He would take this job very seriously. Everyone had things they were scared of. He wanted to know when she'd need him the most.

ugh, she's so hot... she lays on the couch, one leg dangling over the edge, the other propped up against the arm. even with only a loose tank top and shorts on, agatha isn't cooling off very much, less so with the ceiling fan just circulating the warm summer air around the room. she groans, fanning herself with a notebook. stupid AC. why did it have to go out in the middle of the summer? sluggishly agatha lifts her head, looking toward her companion, who is probably suffering in this heat just as much as she is. " think going out for ice cream would be better than laying here like this? "
