She Stares At All The Roombas In Their Docks, Dormant For The Moment. Seventeen Was Just... Sixteen Too

she stares at all the roombas in their docks, dormant for the moment. seventeen was just... sixteen too many. " i-i'm n-not sure that's a good idea... " agatha tells him, looking back up at him. she doesn't know whether to be amused that he did this or worried that he was planning for the possibility of an intruder of sorts. " w-why not just get a g-guard dog or s-something? m-maybe s-set up a security system. "

“why did i buy seventeen roombas? well. because.” he puts his hands to his hips. “i set alexa up to respond to ‘alexa, intruder alert’ by turning off all the lights, setting the volume to one hundred, say ‘so you have chosen death’, play the doom eternal ost track ‘the only thing they fear is you’ and then release all seventeen roombas.”

" oh, you poor thing, it's okay. " she lightly pats the top of the roomba and re-orients the machine. for some reason, it keeps bumping into this one table leg. maybe something was wrong with it? agatha isn't sure. " i hope i don't have to return this... it's just so cute! "
i will do more ic-related things later/tomorrow, but for now, i gotta sleep
soryn just can't help but snort at his answer, laughing now. oh, how amusing he is for a man. is he merely a man since he knew what the demon was so quickly? or is there something more to him? he isn't sure, but he does feel curious. " you find kids in the damnedest of places, i guess. " soryn says, casting a glance in the direction of the priest, the pupils of his eyes narrowing into slits as his shoulders lightly shake from his laughter.
his gaze averts and focuses on the pond once again. there's silence from him for a moment before he sighs. " doing the same job for over four thousand years wears you down. " soryn tells him, taking another bite of his sandwich, washing it down with water. " i was the grand judge of hell. i did love it, once, but there's nothing like seeing the worst, the absolute worst, in humanity every day for most of your life. " he shakes his head, shoulders sinking as he sighs again.
" finally, i... i had to leave. i had to find the joy in life again, so i came up here. at first i had absolutely no idea what i wanted to do. " soryn chuckles, glancing at the priest again. " there was someone i quickly became friends with who helped me secure an apartment and found a job for me. " his reaches up, pinching the fabric of his uniform, lightly tugging it away from his chest. " part-time mechanic. " he lets the fabric go, smoothing it out. " i enjoy it a lot. working with my hands is quite nice. " soryn smiles. he's certainly found a love for hands-on hobbies over the past couple of years, too.

" then, about a year later, a modeling agent came in with her car, needed some part replaced, and she was just... watching me. finally, after i got the part replaced, she just looked at me, gave me her card and said if i ever thought about modeling, to give her a call. " it was still a little funny to think about. maybe she saw potential under the smudges of old oil and the unflattering uniform. " i hadn't thought about it, but the second she gave me that card, i started to. so, part-time mechanic, part-time model as well. quite a peculiar combination, i'm sure, but... it makes me happy. "

shiro couldn't help but release another laugh, following by a scoffing noise. the moment he gained his freedom from asylum, he was doing all sorts of things a holy man shouldn't, all because he wanted to. shiro wasn't a man of morals when it came to a lot of bullshit that made no sense.
" found the poor things abandoned in a dumpster, " he began in an amused tone, a sideways smirk on his lips as he talked passed his cigarette, " bein' the kind, generous man i am, i took 'em in. " the priest spared the demon a sideways glance before he went back to watching the twins playing. rin was all over the place, dragging yukio along with him.
" care to tell me why a demon is sitting out in the open? " he raised a brow curiously, tilting his head slightly to observe the demon more closely. the yellow of their eyes, the pitch black hair, the oil and grease stains on their work uniform, all of it mixed together to create a radiant creature.

at the familiar voice, agatha's gaze and head lifts and she straightens up, expression immediately brightening upon seeing it's her dear friend. " oh, toushiro! it's so good to see you! " the brilliance of the smile she wears now could easily outshine the sun, feeling elated to see him. she'd give him a big hug if he allowed such a thing, but agatha remains by the window of the shop. " yeah. " she nods, her gaze drifting back to the boots she'd been staring at for some time now. she could just call her wife and ask her to come down here and pay for the shoes, but... well, she's probably home grading papers. agatha would hate to disturb her work. " it isn't totally unreasonable! i mean, they're a good pair of shoes from a good brand! nice and sturdy and comfortable. the price is worth it. "

" Oi. -- Something has clearly captured your interest there." he stifles a chuckle to not discomfit the unknowing woman. -- Agatha was the last person he'd foresee catching, her midsection semi-arched in front of a shop's window, her nose virtually abutting its stained outward glass, on the streets amid his midday promenade. He situates himself at her flank, akin to an apparition abiding the position of one's penumbra, extremities profoundly within pockets, and peers aloft her hunched shoulder, at the commodity that had held the fullness of her engagement." Boots, huh? "he says, re-straightening.
" ---- Their listed price is, quite frankly, unthinkably high and unreasonable."
