Honestly I would say the Makoto got the jerk class out off all three cast. As sure, Nagito and Kokichi are bothersome in their own games even they still care about the protags also all their classmates pretty much like them. Meanwhile in THH nearly everyone has wronged makoto in someway but I still have a soft spot for them tho.

Makoto gets straight up framed for murder by his only friend. Sayaka could’ve framed anybody but decided to break Naegi’s trust and pin him on murder. Yes, she did have his best interest in the end...but that was after her plan failed so,,,

After Kyoko finds out that Makoto was hiding who he thought the traitor was, she acted extra cold to him. Kyoko hides plenty more things from him, and the fact that she got mad at something like that is pretty hypocritical. I mean, Makoto even told Kyoko that he believes he knows who it is but he didn’t want to tell her because it was based on a conversation that could’ve been interpreted wrong.

Byakuya. Doesn’t need any further explanation, Byakuya was a jerk to Naegi, he was a jerk to everyone, and did he ever apologise about setting up Chihiro’s dead body? I know he’s an antagonist but Goddamn is he a bastard. Komaeda and Kokichi were bastards too, sure, but they didn’t treat the protagonist as horrible as Byakuya did.

Kyoko framing Naegi for Mukuro’s murder. Do I even need to explain. Last I checked, Kyoko was supposed to be Makoto’s support. Yes, I understand that Kyoko had to survive to get them out, but does that really justify it? Makoto had to pay the price for something that Kyoko did, behind his back too. Wow, Naegi got framed by TWO of his friends, huh.

The cast’s behaviour seeing Makoto after his execution. Yes, this has already been spoken about but I would like to reiterate again, the fact that none of them wanted to get close to him just because he smelled like garbage is pretty ironic. You’re all the ones that condemned him to death and you don’t wanna get close to him because he smells? Shut up, I don’t wanna hear that when you are literally 3cm away from Fukawa. @sh1ttyblog Most of these points are yours my brain is too small for this, love ya

God there is so much more shit he had to deal with but I’m lazy. With that being said, I love the THH cast, they’re great, I love Byakuya and Kyoko,,, it’s just- Makoto really did go through the most.

Yeah, the other protagonists had it rough but Makoto had it rugged. Two almost executions, an almost suicide, framed twice by his two only friends, no love suite events and two killing games?

And for WHAT, he’s literally the most empathetic protagonist (no you cannot tell me I’m wrong)
