The second your car was out of Eddie’s view, he had almost ran into the school. He needed to know what happened. Seeing the hurt in your eyes just about broke his heart. Your words cutting through him like the sharpest knife imaginable.
The second he had opened the front doors of the school, he was met with a crowd of students, Chrissy being front and center. “What the fuck did you do to her?” Eddie asked, his voice laced with venom. “I just treated her like the pathetic little slut she is.” Chrissy shrugged with a smirk. Eddie shoved past her and the crowd.
When he reached your locker, his heart sank to his stomach. He clenched his fists as he read the words sketched onto the cool metal. “You know, I really should’ve listened to everyone when they told me not to date the freak.” Eddie spun around to face Chrissy. He swore there was literal steam coming out of his ears from how angry he was.
“And I should’ve listened to my friends when they told me not to date the self-centered, stuck up, bitch of a cheerleader, but yet here we are.” The look that struck Chrissy’s face had Eddie biting his lip to keep from smiling. “We’re done. Don’t talk to me ever again.” Chrissy spat at him before she made her way out of the crowd. “Gladly.” Eddie had muttered under his breath.
Now Eddie knew why you were so upset. He felt absolutely horrible. He should have ended things with Chrissy the moment he met you. Regret and anger and sadness coursed through his veins. He knew what he had to do. He just prayed you would believe him and give him a chance.
The second you had gotten home you ran to your room and locked the door. You had crawled onto your bed, hugging your knees to your chest. You had been crying for god knows how long. The tears just wouldn’t stop pouring down your face. You couldn’t believe Eddie had hurt you, yet again. You mentally cursed at yourself for being so fucking stupid.
Night had settled over the sky. You were still in the same position on your bed, tears still flowing. You heard something knock against your window, but you shook it off as a tree branch. Then you heard it again, and again. You shuffled around on your bed to look out your window. This isn’t fucking happening you thought to yourself.
There, standing outside of your house, was Eddie. You wanted nothing more than to walk downstairs, open the front door, and punch him square in the face. But the look in his eyes was desperate, pleading. The soft spot in your heart for Eddie won. You opened the window.
“What do you want, Eddie?” you sighed. “Can I please come up there? I need to talk to you.” he was practically begging. “Fine, but make it quick.” You moved away from the window to make room for Eddie. You watched as he climbed through. This wasn’t the first time Eddie had come through your window late at night so he did it with ease.
You sat on the edge of your bed as Eddie stood awkwardly in the middle of your room. You both just stared at each other for what felt like an eternity. Your red and puffy eyes broke Eddie’s heart. You looked like you had been crying for hours, which you had been. Finally, Eddie spoke.
“When you were yelling at me in the parking lot, I genuinely had no idea what had happened. I was so confused and seeing you so upset shattered my heart. So after you left, I went back inside the school and I saw what Chrissy did. I told her off in front of everyone and we ended things. I don’t know how she found out. I promise you I didn’t tell her. I’m so sorry she did that to you y/n.”
You let out a sigh. You wanted to forgive him, you really did. “How am I supposed to trust you Eddie?” was all you managed to say. Eddie walked over to your bed and sat next to you. He turned so that he was looking at you. You watched as he reached up to his neck. He pulled out his guitar pic necklace out from under his shirt and undid the clasp. He grabbed your hand and put the necklace inside.
“I know it doesn’t look like much, but this necklace means a lot to me. I want you to have it. As long as you have that necklace, you can always trust me. I know I’ve fucked up and I know I’ve hurt you. Nothing I say or do can change what I’ve done, but I want to make up for it. I meant it when I said I loved you, I still do. I want more than anything to make you happy.” Eddie looked at you with such genuine love and adoration.
You looked down at the necklace in your palm. You knew how much it meant to Eddie. You’ve never even seen him without it hanging around his neck. “Eddie, I can't take this. It’s too special to you.” You said as you gazed into his chocolate brown eyes. “You’re even more special to me sweetheart. I want you to have it.” He smiled at you.
You both sat there for a moment. You didn’t really know what to say. You knew he was being genuine, you could tell from the look in his eyes. “I still want to take you out this weekend.” Eddie said suddenly. You turned to look at him, a smile on your face. “I’d like that.” Eddie smiled so big you swore the corners of his mouth almost touched his eyes. “Yeah?” he asked hopefully. “Yeah.”
Eddie cupped your face in his hands. He leaned in until his forehead was against yours. “Can I kiss you?” He asked. “Please.” And that was all Eddie needed to hear. The kiss was slow and gentle. Different from the usual heated make out sessions you two had. There was more passion, more love behind this kiss. You were the first to pull away, out of breath. You rested your forehead against Eddies and looked up at him, pure love behind your eyes.
“I wish you could stay, but my parents will be home any minute.” You said, breaking the comfortable silence that had fallen between you both. “Can I take you to school tomorrow?” Eddie asked. “You know I have a car right?” You said teasingly. “I know, but if I take you, I’ll see you sooner.” He said with a bashful smile. “I was just teasing, you can take me.” You giggled. “Good.”
Eddie stood and moved towards the window. “I’ll see you tomorrow princess.” He said with a wink. “See you tomorrow.” You waited until he was halfway out the window. “Wait!” You said as you walked over to him. “What? Did I forget some-“ Eddie was cut off as your lips pressed into his. He sighed into the kiss as you ran your fingers through his hair.
You pulled away with a laugh. “Fuck princess, you’re making it really hard for me to leave.” You giggled. “Im sorry, you can go now.” “Bye y/n.” Eddie said with a wink before he hopped down from the window and made his way to his van. You stayed at the window until his van was out of view. You couldn’t contain the squeal that left your mouth as you flopped down onto your bed.
You couldn’t wait for Saturday.

The Other Woman
part two
pairing: eddie munson x fem!reader
word count: 1.6k
warnings: 18+ minors dni, angst galore, unrequited love, jealousy, allusions to sex, cheating, eddie being an asshole, reader kind of being a home wrecker but who could blame her🤷🏻♀️ (i think that’s it lmk if i missed anything)
summary: you have had a crush on eddie munson for years. you’d be lying if you said it didn’t bother you that he was dating chrissy cunningham. one thing leads to another and suddenly you’re the other woman, but after all, something’s better than nothing, right?
note: this has been sitting in my notes, collecting dust. i barely ever see any soul crushing angsty eddie fics so i made one myself😌pls enjoy and grab some tissues cuz this one hurts. (play the other woman by lana del rey if you’re brave)
You had no idea how you had gotten yourself into this situation. Well you knew how, but you didn’t know why you let yourself get into this situation. You knew you shouldn’t have started any of this in the first place, but you just couldn’t resist him. You couldn’t say no to him.
You and Eddie had been secretly hooking up for months now. Secretly because he was dating Chrissy. Chrissy Cunningham of all people. You were surprised, to say the least, when you first found out about the couple. Given Eddie was known as the freak who ran a “sadistic cult” and Chrissy being a popular cheerleader known as the “queen of hawkins high.” It didn't make sense to you, let alone anyone else.
You’d be lying if you said it didn’t bother you. The seed of jealousy had already been planted deep inside you. You had been harboring a secret crush on Eddie ever since you first saw him. He was so confident, fearless. He didn't care what anyone thought about him. He carried himself in a way you couldn’t help but admire. There was just something about him that captivated you.
You had only spoken to him a few times. That was until you were paired together for a history project. You shouldn’t have been excited as you were to have an excuse to spend time with him, but he didn’t have to know that.
You both had agreed you would go to his trailer after school on friday. So when Friday finally came, you were a nervous wreck. You kept finding yourself staring at the clock, watching it tick with every second that passed. By the time the final bell rang, you practically sprinted to the parking lot, heart hammering in your chest as you got closer to the parking lot.
When you finally opened the doors to exit the school, you immediately spotted him. Eddie was leaning against the side of his van, cigarette hanging from his lips. As you made your way towards his van, your mind instantly started to fill with the dirtiest thoughts imaginable. You had to physically pinch yourself to silence them.
“There she is!” Eddie said with a grin. “Here I am” you said as you walked around to the passenger side of the van. As you settled into the boys van, you could feel his eyes on you. He was quick to turn his attention back to the road when you turned to look at him.
It was so wrong, you knew that, but you decided to test him a little. To see if he would go for the bait. You spread your legs apart slightly, at first. You slipped off the cardigan you were wearing, exposing the tight tank top you wore underneath.
When you turned to look at Eddie, you immediately noticed the grip he had on the steering wheel, his knuckles completely white. You could see his chest rising and falling faster than it had been before. Noticing the effect you had on him only caused you to go farther.
You spread your legs wider, arching your back. The sound of Eddie’s harsh inhale caused you to turn back and look at him. “What’s wrong Eddie?” When he only shook his head in response, you decided to tease him a little. “What? Cat got your tongue?'' Eddie didn’t like that.
He pulled over on the side of the road and turned to look at you. His hand wrapping around your throat as he spoke, “If we do this, you can’t tell anyone. Got it?” you nodded furiously, his grip on your throat only tightening. “I need words y/n.” his voice low and firm. “I won’t tell anyone, I promise.” you panted. “Good girl.” He hissed as he leaned in to press a needy kiss to your lips.
That’s how you got here, crying yourself to sleep almost every night. It was such a cliche but yet here you were, the other woman. All the promises Eddie would whisper in your ear, on a loop in your mind. “I promise I'll leave her” or “It’s you and only you, I promise.” It's been just about 6 months since you had started this “affair.” All of those promises turned into shattered glass, broken.
You swore your heart shrunk more and more every time you saw Eddie and Chrissy together. Watching them hold hands as they walked down the hallway, the way Eddie would whisper something in Chrissy's ear, and even worse, watching them kiss. It was all just too much for you to handle.
You kept promising yourself “This is going to be the last time.” Though, it never was. No matter how much it hurt or how much guilt you felt, you just kept finding yourself in the back of Eddie's van, in his bed, or in the woods bent over the picnic table.
You just couldn’t bring yourself to end this. You loved Eddie, as much as it hurt to admit. You loved the feeling of his hands roaming your body, the sweet nothings he would whisper in your ear. You loved it, you lived for it. It was the only thing you looked forward to. Those special moments between the two of you. When you were with him, everything just fell into place. All those thoughts, those feelings, those voices inside your head were silenced. It was as though the world went quiet and it was just the two of you, no one else mattered, no one else existed.
Eddie Munson was like a drug, an addiction. No matter how many fixes you got, no matter how many times you told yourself this was the last time, you always found yourself needing more, craving more.
One day you finally managed to muster up the courage to give Eddie an ultimatum of sorts. You had a whole speech prepared. You were going to tell him how you felt and if he really meant those promises he whispered in your ear then he would have to follow through if he wanted this to continue.
You had written Eddie a note asking him to meet you at your spot in the woods. You handed it to him during history class. The smirk he had given you in response to the note caused even more anxiety to rake through your entire body. You knew he thought this meet up was just going to be like all the others, which was going to make this even more difficult than it already was.
Your heart was hammering in your chest as you made your way through the clearing in the woods. You already spotted a glimpse of familiar brunette curls from behind the bushes. Your confidence significantly dropped as soon as you saw Eddie. He was leaned up against the picnic table with a lit cigarette hanging from his mouth.
“Hey princess” he beamed as soon as he saw you. He made his way towards you, cupping your face in his hands once he reached you. He started to lean in for a kiss and you were about to give in until you remembered why you were here.
You stopped him with a hand to his chest, pushing him away. Eddie gave you a puzzled look to which you responded. “I asked you to meet me here to talk.'' The disappointed look that struck Eddie's face made your heart sink. “Talk about what sweetheart?” he had asked.
It was now or never. You knew you couldn’t keep putting yourself through this. You had to break it off. You silently prayed Eddie had really meant it when he said he’d leave chrissy for you.
You closed your eyes and took a deep breath. “I can’t keep meeting up with you like this. At least not while you’re still with Chrissy. If you really mean everything you tell me, then you’ll leave her.” You slowly started to open your eyes. What you saw immediately made you regret everything you just said.
Eddie's eyes were wide, not with excitement, but with surprise. There was the slightest hint of a frown on his lips. He had started to fidget with the rings on his fingers, twirling them around. He was speechless, to say the least.
You waited impatiently for him to say something, anything. The uncomfortable silence that had formed between you two became unbearable. Finally, you heard a sigh come from Eddie. “Listen, I do mean everything I tell you. I just- I can’t break up with Chrissy." All the hope you had vanished.
“Why? I mean you obviously aren’t happy with her so why can’t you leave her?” you could feel the sting of tears, threatening to escape your eyes. “I never once said I wasn't happy with her.” Eddie’s tone became defensive, something you’d never heard in his voice. “Then why are we doing this?” you shot back at him.
Nothing could have prepared you for what Eddie said next. “God- because Chrissy doesn’t wanna do the shit we do. I knew you had a thing for me and you’re- just different. It's a change of pace.” It was silent for a while after those words left his mouth. It took everything in you to pull yourself together. You weren’t going to give him the satisfaction of seeing you cry.
“So you were just using me? This whole entire time, everything you told me, everything you did, it all meant nothing?” you didn’t even give Eddie the chance to respond. “I should’ve known. Your own girlfriend isn’t even good enough for you so why should I be.” you turned on your heels, making a bee line for the trail that led out of the woods.
You could hear Eddie calling after you, but you didn’t care. The familiar salty taste filling your mouth as you sobbed. You practically ran to your car, pulling out of the school parking lot so fast that if you weren’t a complete wreck right now, you would’ve scared yourself. You drove home in silence, the only noise being your own sobs.
Eddie Munson had broken you, beyond repair.

summary: it had been two days since your encounter with eddie in the woods and eddie had asked you to meet him in again to explain himself. everything seemed to finally fall into place until someone had overheard you both in the woods and they were not happy about it.
note: pt.2 as requested🥰 and before you ask, yes there will be a pt.3! im sorry in advance for this. ik y’all want that happy ending but i just cant make it that easy. all ill say is don’t stop reading👀
It had been two days since your encounter with Eddie. You had isolated yourself in your bedroom. You barely ate, you barely slept, you barely even moved. You hadn’t been to school and your friends were starting to worry about you, Robin in particular.
You woke up to Robin bursting through your bedroom door. “Y/N! Where have you been?? I’ve been forced to hang out with Steve and he’s great but you know how annoying he is with girls and all-“ she stopped mid-sentence after seeing the state you were in. You couldn’t say you blamed her.
You hadn’t showered, your hair was a mess, and you still had left over mascara under your eyes from crying. “What happened? You look horrible-“ Robin clasped her hand over her mouth. “I didn’t mean it like that. Just- you know, you definitely don’t look your best.” You sighed. “It’s a long story.” Robin sat on the end of your bed. “I have time.”
You told Robin all about you and Eddie. When you finally finished, you didn’t think you'd ever seen Robin speechless before. Her eyes were wide and her jaw slack. After what felt like an eternity, Robin finally spoke. “Okay, a lot to digest here. First off, what an asshole! I mean seriously. Do you want me to talk to Steve? Maybe he could bring out the bat.” For the first time since you had left the woods with Eddie, you smiled. “Robin, I think you’re forgetting Steve has never once won a fight.” “Yeah you’re right. I’d probably do more damage than him. And that’s saying something!” You laughed at that. “I appreciate the gesture, but I really don’t think seeing Eddie get beaten up will make me feel any better.”
Robin had talked you into finally taking a shower. Mostly by commenting on how much you smelled, but it worked nonetheless. She also made you eat something that wasn’t just a bite of toast. You were beyond grateful to have her as your best friend.
After you finished eating, Robin asked “So what are you going to do? You can’t just stay cooped up in your room forever. Don’t let him have that power over you.” Maybe it was because of how Robin had said it or maybe it was because you had finally gotten a clear head, whatever it was, you had agreed with her and decided you would go back to school tomorrow. Regardless if Eddie was there or not.
As you pulled into the school parking lot, you were immediately filled with regret. There he was, perched up against the side of his van with Chrissy right next to him. You swore your stomach dropped all the way to your toes. Thankfully, Robin had offered to ride to school with you. She instantly noticed the scene unfolding in front of you.
“Hey, don’t let it bother you. You’re the bigger person, remember?” She rubbed your shoulder comfortingly. You took a deep breath. “I’m the bigger person. Got it.” “You’re damn right you are!” You giggled, your nerves finally subsiding. “Okay, let’s go.”
As you made your way towards the entrance of the school, you could feel Eddie’s eyes burning a whole into your back. You tried your absolute best to shake it off. You stared ahead, not daring to spare him a glance.
Your day went by surprisingly fast. You had managed to not run into Eddie or Chrissy in the hallways. You actually thought you might get through the day without any drama. Until you reached your locker.
As soon as you opened your locker, a folded up piece of paper fluttered out onto the floor. You looked around to see if anyone was in the hallway, no one was. Slowly you bent down to pick up the piece of paper. As you unfolded it, you immediately recognized the handwriting. Your heart dropped.
Meet me at our spot during lunch. I’ll explain everything.
- E
You re-read the note about 10 times before you could even begin to process what it said. Your first instinct was to rip up the note into a million pieces, but then your feelings took over. You debated telling Robin and asking her what she thought you should do, but before you knew it the lunch bell rang and you were already making your way through the football field and into the woods.
It was like you were on autopilot. You reached the picnic table in the woods before you even knew what was happening. As soon as you saw him, you had to fight the urge to turn around and leave.
He was faced away from you. His chocolate brown curls flowing slightly due to the wind. He was wearing his usual leather jacket with a flannel underneath, paired with black jeans. You stood there for a few minutes, just observing him. It wasn’t until he heard the sound of a twig snap, that he finally turned around.
When his eyes met yours, he looked relieved. As if he was expecting you not to show up. “Hi.” Eddie sounded nervous, you didn’t think you’d ever heard him sound so unsure of himself. “I don’t have a lot of time so say what you need to say.” It came out more harsh than you had intended, but it’s not like he didn’t deserve it.
“Okay.” He paused. “Look, I didn’t mean for what I said the other day to come out how it did. I was never using you. It’s just- there’s a reason why I didn’t want to break up with Chrissy.” There was something behind his eyes you couldn’t quite make out. “And that reason being?” You questioned.
“I was scared.” He raked his fingers through his hair. “I’ve always been the freak. Hell- I’ve been bullied almost all my life. And when I started dating Chrissy, everyone finally stopped messing with me. Not that I really even cared what other people thought about me, it’s just nice to finally get some peace and quiet. I was scared that if I broke up with her, it’ll become even worse than it was before. And it’s not that I don’t like Chrissy, she’s great. But she’s not you.”
It was silent for a while after that. You took time to truly take in everything Eddie had said. On one hand, you really did understand his reasoning. You had watched him get called names and get into fights. You had always felt horrible about it, he never deserved any of it.
On the other hand, you still didn’t know if you could forgive Eddie for what he had said to you. You didn’t know how you were ever going to be able to trust him again. “So, where does this leave us?” You had finally asked.
“I know it was only two days, but not being around you or seeing you made me realize that I don’t care about the name-calling, the fights, or what anyone has to say about me. I want to be with you. And I know I was an asshole. I truly am sorry about how I acted. I know I need to get my shit together and I will. If you still want this, I’ll do whatever you need me to do. I- I love you.”
You couldn’t help the way your heart fluttered when those three words left Eddie’s mouth. He sounded so genuine. You knew it would take time for things to get back to where they were. You needed to be able to trust him again for this to ever work.
After what felt like an eternity, you finally spoke. “I love you too, Eddie. I always have and that’s why I need to be able to trust you for this to work. I don’t want to get hurt again, I can’t get hurt again. We can’t just go back to how things were between us. It’s going to take time and effort.” You looked up at him, waiting for his response.
“I know that it’ll take time and I’m willing to put in the effort. I’m so sorry I hurt you and I promise I never will again. I’ll break things off with Chrissy tonight and I’ll take you out on a real date this Saturday.” He paused. “I really did mean everything I told you. It’s you and only you. I love you y/n.”
Eddie's brown, doe eyes stared into your own, searching desperately for an answer. You knew you were never going to hear the end about this from Robin or any of your friends for that matter, but you decided to give him one last chance. If he broke this promise, that was it.
“Okay.” That was all you could manage to say. “Okay?” Eddie asked with a relieved smile. You nodded. Before either of you could say anything else, the bell rang. “I gotta get back, but meet me here tomorrow and we can talk more.” Eddie said as he made his way to the trail. You watched as his figure disappeared into the trees. You couldn’t help but smile to yourself as you slowly walked back to school. Maybe everything would finally work out as you hoped.
Neither of you knew that Chrissy had seen Eddie slip the note into your locker. She followed him into the woods. She had heard everything from her place behind a tree. Chrissy was livid and she wanted revenge.
The rest of your day went smoothly. You couldn’t contain the excitement you felt. You were finally getting what you wanted. Everything seemed to be falling into place. Then it happened.
The final bell rang and you had made your way to your locker. Only to see a group of students gathered around it. They were giggling and snickering. You shoved your way through the crowd. The sight in front of you made you want to throw up.
“Home wrecking slut” was written across your locker in bright red marker. Everyone was pointing and laughing at you. You couldn’t believe this was happening. You turned to try and run into the bathroom before the tears fell from your eyes, but Chrissy stopped you.
“You fucking slut. You really thought you could sleep around with my boyfriend behind my back and I wouldn’t find out? Are you that desperate for attention?” You could feel the tears running down your cheeks. “Are you really fucking crying right now? God you’re pathetic.” You shoved passed Chrissy before she could say anything else. You could hear the laughter of everyone behind you.
You ran to the parking lot, trying desperately to get to your car before you could run into anyone else. The universe, apparently, was not on your side today. Your eyes were so blurry from crying that you didn’t see the person in front of you before you ran into them.
“Woah! Hey y/n, what’s wrong?” You didn’t even have to look up to know that it was Eddie. Of fucking course. “Are you serious?” You screamed at him. “What? What the hell happened?” Eddie tried to grab your hands but you pulled them away from his grasp. “Don’t play dumb Eddie. I know you told Chrissy about us. Did you tell her to write that shit on my locker too? After everything you told me in the woods today? It was all a trick right? To pay me back for not wanting to hook up with you anymore. And to think I actually fucking believed you. God I’m so fucking stupid.”
“What the hell are you talking about? I didn’t tell Chrissy anything!” You scoffed at him. “Yeah right. I’m done. Fuck you Eddie” you shoved passed him. You could hear him calling after you, but you ignored him. The second you got in your car you drove off. You didn’t know where you were going or what you were doing. All you knew is that you were done with Eddie Munson, for good.
What you didn’t know was that Eddie genuinely had no idea what you were talking about. But he was going to find out.
No matter what.

Hello! Could you do Eddie being completely oblivious to a quiet girl from school that likes him and only really realizing it when one day she comes up to him when he's alone and very nervously asks him out.
hi lovely!! ugh yes this is such a good idea. i tried my absolute best! i kind of switched the plot around a little bit n made them best friends, but reader is still very shy n quiet. i really hope you like it<333
it was honestly getting pathetic at this point. you were absolutely head over heels for your best friend. the loud, dnd playing, metal head, eddie munson. though you two could not be more different.
you were shy, to say the least. your nose always buried in a book. you wouldn’t dream of climbing on top of the lunch table, screaming at random students. which is exactly what eddie was doing right now. you hid your face in the book you were reading, an attempt to hide from the eyes of all your peers.
when eddie finally sat back down again, he leaned over to you, pushing your book down so he could see you. “you really have to stop hiding every time i cause a scene.” he grinned. you closed your book and set it on the table. “you know i hate the feeling of people watching me. it makes me uncomfortable.” you contorted your face in discomfort. “oh cmon sweetheart,” he leaned in so close you could feel his breath on your lips. “i know you secretly want the attention.” eddie winked. you playfully shoved him away, hoping he didn’t notice the way your breathing had significantly increased. or the way your heart practically leapt out of your chest.
this was normal for you two. always flirting meaninglessly, except for you, it was never meaningless. your heart ached every time eddie did or said anything even remotely flirty. knowing it was all a joke to him, hurt you in ways you didn’t think were possible. it was always pretend and it would never be real, no matter how hard you wished and prayed it would be.
“cmon y/n! just tell him how you feel! he 100% feels the same way. i can tell by just the way he looks at you!” you had confided in robin about your major crush on eddie long ago. she had been practically begging you for months now to just tell eddie how you felt. and every time you would respond with the same stupid excuse.
“i cant! what if he doesn’t feel the same? then our friendship will be completely ruined and ill end up being even more miserable then i am now.” robin sighed and rolled her eyes. “you both are absolutely oblivious. it’s so obvious your totally head over heels for each other. literally everyone can see it but you two.” you shook your head.
“robin i just can’t risk it.” you fell backwards into your bed. “besides i wouldn’t know how to even go about asking him out. i mean what am i supposed to say? “hey eddie, just wanted to let you know i’ve been completely and utterly in love with you for three years now. wanna go out?” that sounds fucking insane.” robin tried to stifle a laugh, but failed miserably. you threw one of your pillows at her. “okay! okay! im sorry!” robin put her hands up in a surrendering motion.
“definitely don’t say it like that, but you really should just talk to him. i promise you he feels the same. if im wrong ill cover all of your shifts at family video for an entire month.” you immediately sat up to look at her. “are you seriously trying to bribe me into telling eddie how i feel?” robin shrugged. “is it working?” you couldn’t say it wasn’t. “a little bit..”
“then make it two months. if you tell eddie how you feel and he rejects you, i will cover all of your shifts for two whole months.” robin took two fingers to her chest, crossing her heart. “and what if he doesn’t?” she smirked mischievously. “then you have to take all of my shifts for two months.”
you thought about it for a minute. it was kind of a win-win situation. if you told eddie how you felt and he rejected you, you would have all of your shifts covered for two months. you would be able to hide in your room, away from everyone. especially eddie. but if you told eddie how you felt and he felt the same, you would finally be with eddie. yeah, you’d have to cover robins shifts for two months, but that was a measly price to pay.
you held your hand out to robin. “deal.” she smiled so wide you swore the corners of her mouth almost touched her eyes. “deal.” she said as she shaked your hand. as soon as robin left, a million thoughts raced through your mind. the biggest one being, oh god what did i do.
the next day at school, you were a nervous wreck. you had spent almost the whole night planning what you were going to say to eddie. you practically had the whole speech memorized before you even made it to the school parking lot. you repeated in your head like a mantra throughout the whole day.
you had asked eddie to meet you in the woods after school. he had assumed it was just to smoke a joint as you two did that quite frequently. little did he know, you were about to confess all of your feelings for him you had kept hidden for the past three years.
your heart hammered in your chest as you made your way through the woods. you silently prayed to the universe that this would go as you hoped. you didn’t know what you would do if he rejected you. you didn’t want to even think about it.
as soon as you reached the picnic table, eddie flashed you a toothy smile. “hey sweetheart,” he held up a freshly rolled joint in between his fingers. “you ready to smoke this shit? it’s really strong so you might wanna go easy.” you smiled at him. “actually there’s something i need to talk to you about.” you said as you nervously sat on the edge of the table.
eddie looked concerned. “hey, what’s wrong? are you okay?” he reached across the picnic table, taking your hands in his, rubbing the backs of them with his thumb affectionately. “no no im fine. i just- i need to tell you something.” he stared into your eyes intensely, almost as if he was trying to read your mind. “im listening.”
you took a deep breath, looking down at both of your hands intertwined. it was now or never. “i don’t really know if there’s an easier way to say this so im just going to get right to the point.” you paused, taking the time to try and calm yourself down before you continued. you felt eddie squeeze your hands, encouraging you to go on. it was all you needed to keep going.
“i’ve had feelings for you for a long time now. there’s just something about you that drives me absolutely insane. your just so different from everyone else and i admire that. your so sure of yourself and your so fucking kind and considerate. you always put everyone before yourself. you care so deeply for all of the people in your life. you just have this way of making everyone feel seen. your just so perfect. i never told you how i felt because i was so scared of being rejected. im still fucking terrified-i-you’re my best friend eddie and i don’t know what id do without you because i just love you so much and i totally understand if you don’t feel-“ you were cut off as eddies lips crashed into yours.
you gasped in surprise. though it didn’t take you long to melt into the kiss. the feeling of eddies lips against yours was like pure ecstasy. the way your lips fit perfectly together made you think you were made for each other. the kiss had your toes curling and your chest heaving. it wasn’t until eddie pulled away that you finally looked at him.
his eyes were full of love and pure adoration. “you have no idea how long i’ve been wanting to do that.” he said with the biggest smile you’ve ever seen. “really?” the way you were still unsure of his feelings towards you made eddie chuckle. “yes really. y/n i’ve been in love with you since the day i met you. i just never thought you would ever feel the same.” you giggled. “i guess we’re pretty oblivious aren’t we?” you asked with a smile. “yeah. total idiots.” you both laughed.
you knew you were going to have to take all of robins shifts for the next two months, but you didn’t mind. it was a small price to pay considering you were finally eddies and he was finally yours. nothing could ever ruin that.
