A note to all creatives:

Right now, you have to be a team player. You cannot complain about AI being used to fuck over your industry and then turn around and use it on somebody else’s industry.

No AI book covers. No making funny little videos using deepfakes to make an actor say stuff they never did. No AI translation of your book. No AI audiobooks. No AI generated moodboards or fancasts or any of that shit. No feeding someone else’s unfinished work into Chat GPT “because you just want to know how it ends*” (what the fuck is wrong with you?). No playing around with AI generated 3D assets you can’t ascertain the origin of. None of it. And stop using AI filters on your selfies or ESPECIALLY using AI on somebody else’s photo or artwork.

We are at a crossroad and at a time of historically shitty conditions for working artists across ALL creative fields, and we gotta stick together. And you know what? Not only is standing up for other artists against exploitation and theft the morally correct thing to do, it’s also the professionally smartest thing to do, too. Because the corporations will fuck you over too, and then they do it’s your peers that will hold you up. And we have a long memory.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking “your peers” are only the people in your own industry. Writers can’t succeed without artists, editors, translators, etc making their books a reality. Illustrators depend on writers and editors for work. Video creators co-exist with voice actors and animators and people who do 3D rendering etc. If you piss off everyone else but the ones who do the exact same job you do, congratulations! You’ve just sunk your career.

Always remember: the artists who succeed in this career path, the ones who get hired or are sought after for commissions or collaboration, they aren’t the super talented “fuck you I got mine” types. They’re the one who show up to do the work and are easy to get along with.

And they especially are not scabs.

I cannot stress enough to Tumblr staff that they do not need to change the site. Do not try to be like Twitter. Do not try to be like Reddit. Do not alter how this site works.

Tumblr will be the most popular social media site if they continue letting all these other sites implode

Okay so we all have this idea that abilities are born from trauma or desire, right? They're incredibly powerful emotions and manifestation in the form of a skill, a weapon. In dead apple it's also briefly mentioned that the dragon is born from the abilities. In other words, that destructive mindless dragon was born from those emotions.

This leads me to think that these abilities must have some sort of physical and mental effect on the skill users. The mental effect is evident throughout the story, especially from Atsushi's pov but physical effect too. A lingering tiredness, like invisible weights on your shoulders.

So what must Dazai's touch feel like to these people? No Longer Human doesn't only nullifies the ability, it temporarily takes it away from the user, along with the exhaustion.

It must feel amazing, alleviating to come in contact with it for skill users.

Now imagine hugging Dazai. Imagine ADA having a hug Dazai day.

Hugging Dazai feels like every ounce of tension leaving your bones. It's nice, it's stress relieving. It's so soothing you could fall asleep in his arms (Kenji does every time and Atsushi starts dozing off in ten seconds). Even Ranpo loves hug Dazai day. Kunikida always lingers on for an extra minute when he gets to hug Dazai. Yosano thinks they should have hug Dazai day every day.

Imagine being Chuuya who gets to hug Dazai to sleep every night. He'll never admit it but he LOVES being the little spoon. Falling asleep in Dazai's arms feels therapeutic. He always wakes up the next morning feeling like he could conquer the world.

I've also read somewhere on twitter that asgr came up with nlh as an ability that ruins everything for Dazai and I just want to think that sometimes when he accidentally nullifies someone's ability and tries to apologize for it, the person immediately goes no that was wonderful tf do it again.

So yeah basically everyone loves Dazai and his ability.

Just because somebody can out-argue you, that doesn’t necessarily make them a good person. And the other person who gets out-argued isn’t necessarily a bad person, either. … If you could really win people’s hearts over with the power of money, authority, or reasoning, then moneylenders, policemen, and college professors would be more popular than anybody else.
