that’s what i’ve been telling people the haters ex harry potter fans that you can still be a fan of something still love and like something without supporting the creator because according to haters if you still a fan of harry potter that means you still support jk rowling and you a transphobic like she is and that’s not the truth i 100 percent agree you can separate the art from the artist it’s the same thing as separating a character from the actor or actress do you have a favorite movie or tv character that you feel in love with that you love because that character is badass or awesome either way but you found out the actor or actress who plays your favorite character is a problematic person in real life a problematic person like jk rowling? and you are devastated thinking should i still like this character even though the person who plays my favorite character is a horrible person in real life? yes you should people separate characters from the actors all the time you can still like your favorite character without liking or supporting the actor or actress who plays that character if they are problematic or not separate the art from the artist the art harry potter the artist jk rowling i’ve loved harry potter since i was a kid and i still do i will always love and be a fan of harry potter i’m not gonna let a horrible disgusting person ruin that and take that away from me i don’t feel guilty for liking harry potter and i’m not gonna let haters let me fell guilt i don’t read the books anymore if i want to read anything harry potter related i just read fanfics on archives of your own or wattpad because people who write fanfics are more talented and better if i want to watch the harry potter movies which the movies are better then the books anyhow i just watch them on a free site no money no subscription don’t let haters and ex harry potter fans let you fell guilty for still being a fan of harry potter and still liking it or tell you to give up liking harry potter because they did and because they accuse you of things that aren’t true i get that a lot but you know what i do i block and ignore them the fact is you can still be into something without liking the or supporting the creator remember that:)

I just want to explain why you can say I'm a fan even though the author is bad

I seperate the art and the artist. But not only that but I already own her movies (because I already had them when I was way younger) and some books. So when i consume her media I'm not giving her money.

I haven't bought or watched any of Jkr works. So any merch I do get it would be because of family/friends.

I'm only connected to harry Potter from fan fiction. Which most definitely don't give her money and definitely go against her.

So yes I'm a harry Potter fan. But only because of life. I'm trying to get out of the fandom but it's hard because it was the only that brings me comfort as a kid.

So for now I'm going to continue saying I'm a harry Potter fan until I'm completely out.

Because I don't want to feel like I'm lying if I go back to it.

Right now my main interest is Spider Man and I truly hope that sticks.

Also I know Disney is also bad. But one thing at a time.

There's only so much I can consume and like (hinting at fan fiction) from the fandom. And I hope it would be enough to get me out of harry Potter fandom.

Then I can find a better interest that's not harmful.

(Spiderman will always be my favorite superhero tho)

I'm also really getting into video games, specifically Stanley Parable.

And I'm deeply getting into Stranger Things.

Hopefully I can get out of the harry Potter fandom soon.
