So happy to have successfully completed the challenge! Not gonna lie though, I was 2/3s of the way through designing the Death card before realizing today's prompt was the devil😅

Gonna be taking a break from tarot for a bit, but I hope to come back to it.

Ariel’s Song by Julia Milius 2015 Acrylic Mixed Media

An AP Studio Art project on Shakespeare’s The Tempest. I used the 2010 protrayal of Ariel played by Ben Whishaw, choosing a stronger color scheme of dark blues, greys, and purples highlighted with gold accents. The texture in the feathered wings was made by tissue paper, the backround is a paper ripped up and glued in a pattern, and the hair texture was made with old gesso.

Day 3: The Hanged Man

A card about self sacrifice just hits different when framed with the Bartimaeus story.

The pose is inspired by one of my favorite John Singer Sargeant sketches.

The figure of Ptolemy at the bottom matched by Nathaniel on the reverse side in almost the same position. A stance of struggling to get up and failing. A noose is wrapped around both figures, the rope connects them. One strand of rope is broken, releasing a bird.
