why is therapy treated so formally in media i went to therapy and for at least half the session i was playing with kinetic sand on the floor and she just asked me about like. what my favorite animal was. and i didn't even have to answer she also witnessed me trying to handcuff something (there were tiny toy handcuffs) and was like "hold on maybe it'll work on this" and it did and i felt so accomplished in that moment. then i went back to playign with sand

I died but I came back exactly the same. You though, I came back and you were wrong. Did the fact of my dying really damage you that much? Was bringing me back worth what it cost you? Would it have been better to just leave me?

i see a lot of posts that are like “x is not a scary mental illness!” and thats super true for all of them, like schizophrenia and schizo-spec disorders and DID and OSDD and personality disorders and trauma disorders etc etc!! but i also want to remind you that even if you get scared of your symptoms, you are not a bad person. even if your symptoms can look scary to others, you are not a bad person. even if the horror genre in hollywood likes to use your mental illness as a trope, you are not a bad person. your mental illness doesnt mean that you are a bad person.
