EXACTLYYY The Shippuden Timeskip Would Help Her So Much With Her Confidence, I Really Wish We Got To
EXACTLYYY the shippuden timeskip would help her so much with her confidence, I really wish we got to see more of her and tsunade training because having her as a mentor is so perfect for Sakura in so many ways.
As a child she was smart but she didn't really know what to do with her chakra control/wasn't given special training like sns. With tsunade she figures out what she wants to do with her future and how she wants to fight, and her extra confidence is sooo clear once naruto gets back to the village
Takes ur hand in mind
Let's reread naruto through a queer lense if Sakura was a young trans girl growing up and grappling with femininity and gaining a new found family

hi! you sem to have such a different view of sakura than i do and i just can't fathom how you get that. do you really just get sakura better than i do? or are you being delulu? did we read the same manga? please i want an essay of sakura from you because for some reason sakura is a very complicated character to me and i kinda just want to like her but somehow i can't see the coolness. or like i can but still she just seems so so so one dimensional to me. like do you impose your own headcanons to her to deepen the character or like what. where do you get all that. because you also seem to get sasuke and naruto so perfectly. please talk to me about sakura
I will admit that some of my works with her are a little headcanony, but so is my stuff with Naruto and Sasuke. That's just the nature of making fanworks in general. I actually think I do it LESS with her than anyone else.
I think the big thing is not seeing her as "cool", but just as a person like you do the male characters (or the female characters who worship Naruto and all his choices). A large part of people's responses to her are misogyny, even when we don't notice that on the surface level. Think about things people dislike about her- weak, stuck up, a bad friend. Now realize Kakashi's exactly the same way only we didn't have to see him be a know-it-all brat until way later. Another thing- people hold her meanest moment (chapter 3) as an unforgivable CONTINUING thing, even though she learned her lesson right away, despite characters like Shikamaru taking way longer to acknowledge Naruto. Also, how people think she's useless for the same things they think Lee is awesome for.
If you want more ninja discourse from me about Sakura, THIS might be the best break down I did about the other thing everyone gets mad about.
Tl;dr: 1. She is extremely protective of Naruto's emotional health even when he does not want/need it, and that's a compelling and fun dynamic. 2. She has great slapstick reactions to things, be it as the one making funny faces while chastising at an idiot or making funny faces while being the idiot. She's both as a tsukkomi and a boke depending on the situation. 3. Female characters in this series are written shallowly and only exist as support to male characters, but Sakura acts with her OWN reasons, even when the male characters she is acting for would not want it, so she's more interesting to me. Example: the Kage Summit Arc when she wanted to kill Sasuke to protect Naruto even though she knew it would make Naruto hate her and the guy she loves be dead.

It's a fun little hobby of mine!
"Stop talking about sakura" NO!
Anyways her making fun of an orphan to an orphan is objectively comedic gold BUT narratively for her it's great because her whole young life at that point she's just been living with what the village believes about naruto. What she's heard from adults or classmates.
Sasuke's "you're annoying" challenged that rhetoric directly and caused her to actually reflect and start to treat naruto better immediately. Like most kids, she just needed to be shown a different point of view.
@meglyfer WAIT DONT LEAVE THIS IN THE TAGS UR SO RIGHT

I think a huge part of her character development is learning that Sasuke is much more flawed and damaged than she thought, and conversely, Naruto is smarter and much more resourceful than she thought. She goes from a surface crush/dislike to a deep love and care for the both of them and it shows in how she's constantly trying to lie to spare Naruto's feelings
They're her family! I also hc sasuke as transmasc because it's interesting to ME in how the uchiha are kind of misogynistic (see: madara) and Fugaku not acknowledging Sasuke out of more than just "you're not a genius like itachi" is incredibly heartbreaking. But it also adds to sasukes warped sense of reality surrounding his brother and parents but also it adds something to his and sakuras relationship I feel
Like the scene where she cuts her hair. That'd be such a huge moment for her because her hair is tied to her self-confidence and sense of self. Sasuke seeing her in that state and going sicko mode? That scene under a trans lense is SO interesting to me
