basically the parallel is that Michelle says that all she has left is hope, while that's the thing John lost

more in depth, they are very similar. They both had a child that they lost in some way, and I swear I went in depth on this in another post or ask but along with this, Michelle believes he's alive when he is actually dead, but John has already lost hope (metaphorically and literally) what if this meant that she was still alive. For the parallels but anyways

both of their children's disappearances have to do with weird shit that happens in the town, with the cult for hope, and moloch for dexter. Along with this both of their disappearances are fire related as moloch breathes fire and the cult well. Burning down John's house.

all in all my theory is that for the parallels she is alive and being held hostage by the cult in some way and it will come up later in SM, but that's just a theory.
