The feeling of hanging up the phone after a conversation with your mum.

You’re excited to tell her about something in your life, happily yapping.

Only to realize, like always she’s got her new boyfriend in the room, he’s also talking to her & she’s appeasing you.

She’s actually trying to listen to what the more important person in her life is saying. Always.

You kindly excuse yourself, you’ve had enough meltdowns over this behaviour to know that no matter how clear you are that it hurts… clarity won’t make her care.

You’re alone in the house she bought you, three provinces away, once again.

You wonder… the person who is supposed to love me the most never really cares to hear me, will someone ever?
