I'm kind of nervous to ask this, not going to lie....

I want to preface this by saying that I mean absolutely no disrespect in any way, so I'm sorry if it sounds that way. Conversation over text can be tricky sometimes.

So, to start, I'd like to say that I frankly know very little about pronouns outside of she/her, he/him, they/them, any combination of those, and neos. All of that to say, I don't really understand the choice to use the pronoun "it". Of course, feel free to just ignore this if it makes you uncomfortable, but I ask out of genuine curiosity; why do you identify with those pronouns?

Again, I'm so sorry if this offends you in any way, but I cannot stand not knowing, so I couldn't just not ask lest my lack of knowledge in this area haunt me for the rest of eternity-

pronouns as a whole are a very personal thing, so i might well preface that these are just my thoughts. my word isn't law :D

the mildly lengthy explanation is below the cut so i don't clog up the dashboard~

i should also mention that as much as i dislike labeling myself, i am agender. technically i don't mind any pronouns being used for me, but seeing people use he/him specifically makes me giddy.

it/its is largely there for the agenderism in me, if that makes sense. pronouns just kind of all feel mildly iffy to me in some sense. not upsetting, just off, y'know? i don't know how to put it into words, but the closest i can word it is that it/its just does something no other pronoun does. and trust me, i've used every pronoun in the book at one point or another.

that said, i have recently had quite a few fairly upsetting experiences that have made me do some reflection, and it/its is partially also product of that. not going to go into the details of that as it is fairly personal~

minor sidenote at the end here but my first language doesn't have gendered pronouns, so that definitely has also affected my pronouns somewhat lol

and hey, a lot of respect to you for actually being brave, asking and trying to understand this!! not something everyone dares to do~
