Another fic idea I have where Chell pulls Wheatley back in through the portal, but Chell falls into a coma, and GLaDOS nurses her back to health … and begins Wheatley's punishment.

The portal closes and Wheatley's on the ground of Her chamber, watching Her and the testing bots fuss over the lady. A lot just happened in the past … he doesn't even know. A lot happened recently. And he's thinking about it. And he's horrified. He's concerned for her, the lady. He doesn't understand what's happening. His twitching and sparking is back. It hurts.

The bots are moving her out of the room and he panics. This is when he speaks up. "What are you doing to her? Where are you taking her?"

GLaDOS narrows Her eye at him. "What am I doing to her? I'm trying to keep her alive, you know, after you almost murdered her. You monster."

Wheatley can name at least three ironies in what She just said, but he doesn't. He's too distressed for that. He did try to murder her, didn't he? Is she … dying? He didn't think the bombs got to her. GLaDOS snaps him out of it with Her cold, sing-song words.

"Now what to do about you?"

Cue GLaDOS killing him so he can watch the little black box recording over and over, just like She had to. She wakes him up at a later point though. Maybe transfers him to an android or human body, or maybe not, but he would be given menial tasks to do as punishment. Maybe even a sort of program resembling a shock collar, so GLaDOS can remotely administer some sweet torture next to his regular twitch if he misbehaves … or if She simply feels like it.

He asks sometimes how it's going with Chell. If she's healing well. When she wakes up from her coma and starts physical therapy in the facility, Wheatley sees her through windows or cc feeds. He's so sad that she's suffering because of him and his horrible actions. And that he can't show his face to her. He can't. He's so ashamed.

Then they all just live in the facility together and eventually mend their relationships with each other. Even Wheatley and GLaDOS shakily sort out their hatred and misunderstanding of each other.
