Before you begin the app, please read the important notes below :

There is an issue that causes a loading freeze past Chapter 7.

To bypass this issue, click download data LATER when given the two options on whether or not to download extra data while playing. DO NOT click download now while playing or else you might have reinstall/clear data cause the loading will freeze at the four coffins for a really long time.

Only click download extra data when there is only one choice. This should bring up the loading screen with the data countdown and you will have no problems passing the game at this point.

Hopefully, the issue gets fixed soon. But it's better to take precautions, just in case.

Got news from someone on Discord that a new server for Shining Nikki will be officially released in my region, SEA ( South East Asia ) on 13th April 2022.

Previously, I’ve heard of this game but didn’t play it in the global version ( not available in my country yet ) cuz the storage on my old tablet was dangerously close to max capacity (；￣Д￣) and also, kinda still miffed about Hello Nikki closing it’s doors at that time.

My first Nikki game is Nikki UP2U. Then, I played Hello Nikki which got shut down. Did not play Miracle Nikki ( or Love Nikki ) cuz of same reason (HN) that I didn’t play Shining Nikki.

But since Helix Waltz is closing in a few days, I decided that I should just try it out and see how it goes.

I’ll update my friend ID on my blog once I’ve joined the SEA server.

So.. yea~ cya in SN, I suppose TwT I’m gonna miss HW...

Thank you so much to the Helix Waltz team, my friends and everyone in the fan community for the wonderful 3 years, it's been a fun ride TwT although, we didn't really get to see how Magda's story concludes, I really did love the world-building, story and characters, hopefully we'll see Helix Waltz again in the future. 

Personally, I did have that gut feeling that it’ll happen eventually... Still, I didn’t want it to be real qwq It might be a good idea to get screenshots of your favorite outfits and save your memorable moments before the server goes down.

As someone who invested time and money into the game since pre-registration, I did not regret one bit of my experience playing this game and it will always be a fond memory to look back on.

A reminder that NaNoRenO 2022 starts in just over 4 days, on March 1st!

What is NaNoRenO?

NaNoRenO is an annual month-long game jam in which developers are challenged to make a visual novel from start to finish. It was originally inspired by the more famous NaNoWriMo (National Novelist Writer’s Month, which takes place in November). There’re no restrictions on content or genre*. All visual novels submitted for NaNoRenO must have been made exclusively in the month of March.

The most recent phrasing of the NaNoRenO rules:

Takes place during the month of March.

Final visual novel must be finished on or before April first. The jam deadline is slightly longer to allow for internet outages or other emergencies that prevent you from uploading your finished visual novel.

You can only begin actual production of your game in March.

Allowed before NaNoRenO begins:

Brainstorming

Plot Outlining

Sketches that do not lead to direct production of assets

Team Building

Not Allowed until NaNoRenO begins:

Sketches of sprites, CGs, backgrounds, or anything else that leads to production of assets

Writing or coding any portion of the game

Production of assets to be used in the game

Use of Creative Commons material is okay.

There are no “winners” here. Everyone who manages to release their game has completed NaNoRenO!

You may release a buggy version of your game by the deadline and fix it up later or release a demo for NaNoRenO.

While other game elements may be present, the final piece should be largely identified as a “visual novel.”

Upcoming Game - Helix Waltz 2 : Rose War / The War of Roses

Apparently, there's news of an upcoming game in the Helix Waltz series called Helix Waltz 2 : Rose War / The War of Roses ( it doesn't really have an official English name yet ). It only has the Chinese version in current time of writing this.

From the game description, it seems that :

It features a new heroine in a different setting.

Varied artstyle.

Different cast/suitors/followers.

Has a housing system where you can decorate.

Might have game mechanics like dancing from the 1st game.

For me, it's still too early to give an opinion on the game since it's still in the pre-registration stage.

However, one thing's for sure is that I hope Magda's story in the 1st game will still continue or at least the devs give her story a proper conclusion by the time they decide to end the 1st game's development.

As an old player who has been overseeing Magda's journey for three years now, I would be really sad if somehow the 1st game ends up becoming a stepping stone for this 2nd game.

Personally, I think that they should just call this new game, Rose Waltz or something to that nature. Still, if they plan to use Helix Waltz in the name, I do wish it will be a good game that can live up to it's predecessor.

Guess what? Twisted Wonderland will finally have an English version !

Pre-registration will be open on 21st December 2021 ( maybe the next day for some ). So, be sure to head to the official website and pre-register for the Night Raven College there.

At present time, it is noted on Twitter that the game will arrive in the US and Canada on January 20, 2022. No news on whether it'll be region-locked or open to other countries. But hey, there's always a way.

I'm seriously hype though! Can't wait to finally read the story after playing the Japanese version. There are good fan translations btw but it just doesn't feel the same as reading and playing on your own pace.

If you're wondering if Twisted Wonderland is an otome game or not, it's not. At least from my understanding when I was playing the game, it's more like a story adventure rhythm game with battle/rpg elements where you can interact with a charming cast of characters and Grimm.
