They both learn to read braille, Arthur bc he can't, y'know, see and he can't always rely on John to read to him, John does it to accomapany Arthur at first but then he uses it to read books while Arthur is sleeping!! Imagine, you see a dude, he's sleeping, all good, you see his left hand passing pages in a book, wtf
