They actually built a full scale animatronic/robotic model for the film, and actually used this to beat seven bells out of the T. rex animatroic... (the spinosaur animatronic tore the head off the T. rex one... 🫢)

While a lot has changed in our understanding of Spinosaurs between the film's release and today, you can still pretend that the other anatomical, er, quirks of this creature are down to poor genetic engineering... 🤔
