I Have A Bad Tendency To Compare Myself As Better Or Worse To Others Albeit Subconsciously Which Is Something

I have a bad tendency to compare myself as better or worse to others albeit subconsciously which is something that's really bad for my self esteem and can sometimes make me seem like an asshole and, thinking it through, but can't help but feel that this is an inherent result of a education system that rates people with quantifiable numbers of who's better or worse and just the overall pressure given into students to get good grades.

Add that to just societal expectations and the way people who underperform tends to be represented in media and well, you got a lot of people who have internalized comparing themselves to others and considering themselves inherently better or worse to others which in the long run is such a damaging mindset to not only your self esteem but also just physically you.

Life isn't a competition, you aren't underperforming and we are all just doing our own stuff and I think the sooner we realize that life can be lived beyond just a simple number that qualifies your human worth, the sooner I think we will start getting better as people.
