My version of Epilogue Sorey and Mikleo~ 

I have so many sad headcanons that take place before the last epilogue….

Mikleo returning with the others, or returning home, or unpacking Sorey’s travel gear, and as he shakes out the blanket and pillow his heart jumps up into his throat because they still smell like Sorey. Suddenly everything hurts and he can’t stand staying, but he can’t make himself leave, either, and for just that first night he shuts himself away and holds onto the pillow that smells like Sorey and cries.  

Or something.  

He gets better. It never gets easier, but he gets better at coping.  Eventually he remembers how to smile. Instead of thinking of all the things Sorey is missing, he decides to start archiving everything for Sorey when he returns. He returns now and then to the house in Izuchi full of memories, dusting the shelves and keeping it frozen in time just like himself, careful to leave everything exactly as it was - for Sorey, when he returns.  

Zaveid, Lailah, and Edna forming a sort of intervention when they catch Mikleo moping too much.   

Mikleo still making ice cream so he won’t have lost his touch when Sorey returns.

Mikleo coping with being frozen in time while his human friends grow old without him, asking the others how they cope, as he finally learns what it means to be a Seraph.

…Mikleo getting used to sleeping alone in the darkness with dreams that are even darker. 

I know how Hideo Baba has said many things about Sorey’s devotion to Mikleo, how Sorey wouldn’t fit into any kind of traditional m/f relationship, and at first I was curious why he didn’t say such things of Mikleo. But really, if ANYONE is questioning the depth of MIkleo’s devotion to Sorey by the end of the game, then they simply must not have eyes, ears, or a heart, because it is profound.
