Auron, who is scared to fall in love because he doesn't want the person he loves to be in danger because of his position in his gang

Auron, who falls head over heels for Rook, promising himself that he'd protect him with his life

Auron then finding out that Rook was a part of a mob, and that Rook's position and power in the mob could rival his own

Auron learning about what Rook's job was in the trio, and how Rook would oftentimes seduce targets to get information/get close enough to kill the target

Auron then having an existential crisis because he wonders if he, too, was just a target for Rook, or that he was just pretending to love Auron so that way he could keep a solid job

think of Auron, watching Rook on a mission for the first time, and seeing how he treats his targets. See's how Rook looks at his targets with a hard, predatory gaze. How Rook is flirty and sweet with his targets, but always on guard, and keeps them an arm lengths away unless necessary to have them closer.

Then think of Auron, seeing Rook after his mission and watching his gaze melt as he looks at Auron. At how he visually relaxes at seeing Auron in the room. How Rook's voice is soft and sweet, as he curls up in the chair next to Auron and lays his head on his shoulder.

And see how Auron's entire inner conflict stops as he knows now that Rook isn't pretending to love him just to use him. How Auron feels his muscles relax finally, knowing that Rook really, truly loves him. How Auron lays his head on top of Rook's, accepting the fact that he was stuck with Rook, and Rook was stuck with him. Forever.
