you hum, blinking at your boyfriend's eyes fixed onto your hand. more specifically your fingers.

"what is what ?"

tomura grumbles, squeezing your hand more as he presses his index against your ring finger, flipping it for you to see. you can't see anything, but you know what he's talking about.

"that. what happened here ?" he urges, looking at you impatiently, his lip pulls up into a scowl.

you snort "i got a paper cut at work." you shrug. the simpleness of your answer seems to offend him even more. he scoffs, squinting at your finger, the barely visible cut in particular, with so much distain. he doesn't even glare like this at his screen when he rages at one of his games. it makes you laugh until you feel his finger rub at the skin. you jerk your hand back but his grip is firm.

"ow ! tomu, don't touch it !" you whine, tomura ignores your complaint, he grunts to himself. the amount of annoyance this tiny little thing has on him is almost endearing. "why didn't you tell me about this ?"

you snort loudly despite the killer eyes he sends you, he truly is unconsciously hilarious and it pains you that he doesn't know it" i didn't think you'd notice it, i already forgot about it."

he scoffs out loud at your words, rolling his eyes. "of course you did." because of course you did, and how could he not notice ? do you not know how obvious this was, you who's entire body he'd committed to memory ? to him this looked like you were walking around with a hole in your hand. he decides not to respond or say what he's thinking about out loud. even if he wanted to he's sure it'd come out weird, or not come out at all.

he drops your hand, huffing to himself "get a bandaid on that, you could get tetanus."

you burst out laughing.

"..did you just sniff me ?"

"no."

immediate, crisp. a little snappy, maybe a little too fast. the word leaves tomura's mouth in an instant.

"..you sure ?" your voice shakes, lips twitching to desperate hide your smile. tomura's eyes twitch and narrow, he notices. "yeah." he grits out. his voice remains forcibly even.

"tomu--"

"i wouldn't sniff you. that's fucking weird." he readjusts on the couch, grunting as he does so. you can tell he's desperately trying to make himself more comfortable, he refuses to look your way.

"well, if you just so happened to--"

"i didn't."

"hypothetically. if you did, i smell different because i changed my perfume. it smelled good and i wanted to try something different." you explain, continuing to scroll on your phone in an attempt to calm your boyfriend's nerves. snuggling into him again. no matter how many times you do it it still makes him stiffen the slightest bit, affection is something he can never quite get used to. he loosens up soon after. slowly leaning his shoulders to yours just slightly so he can feel the pressure, so you can feel his weight on you.

it takes him a minute before he grunts out a barely audible "smells good."
