The Bird (falcon) mask mentioned in my last post :>

it was made from scratch with cardboard and hot glue, furred with faux fur felt, and some craft feathers !! for the dyed part, i used acrylic paint (beak, eyes) and pernament markers (to color the fur for more realistic effect.) also can't forget some accesories for pretty original effect (also TRINKETS-)

I got everything from my local craft store :)

I mostly use cheap stuff, so this post is also a reminder you don't need high quality materials to make a decent looking mask! it's all about having fun.

Should I make a tutorial? (for the cardboard base and how to start)

I have some experience in mask making, so I don't use pre-made cat bases anymore for example, i made the pattern by myself :3

You do not have to have dragon shifts as a dragonkin/therian.

You do not need to have cat phantom shifts in order to be a cat.

You can be a werewolf and be mentally a cat.

You can be an alligator, but behave like a snake instead.

You can be a bat, but never get bat-like urges.

You can be an existing animal with 'impossible' features, i.e, a wolf with wings, a cat with a feathered tail, a crane with wolf-like fur, etc.

You don't have to have shifts at all to identify as something.

You don't need to be congruent in every single way, identity can be messy and weird. You really do not need to be a badger in every way. You can just be a badger in one way, but not the other, but that doesn't take away from you being a badger.

ALTERHUMAN SLANG. dont tell me you haven’t at least thought about it. Most if these are carnivorous mammal specific, but i will try to throw in some other kinds as well!!

Got on my back paws - got on my hands and knees. Like how animals can stand up as a trick.

ex: yeah, i really wanted that necklace, i had to get on my back legs so she would get it for me.

Showing fang - standing up for yourself/being assertive. ex: he’s really tough, but he’ll show fang at just about anything.

White eye - going crazy/really scared. Like how animals show the whites of their eyes when very agitated.

ex: haha, i saw how scared you were during that movie, you went all white eye at the end!

Riptide Rider - (aquatic) someone who lives dangerously.

ex: stay away from her, she’s a riptide rider, you’re bound to get hurt.

Treetop chaser - (herbivorous) someone who chases unattainable things.

ex: they’re way out of your league, don’t be a treetop chaser.

Cloudy day - (reptilian) usually used as a question, if someone is acting tired or unusual. Like how reptiles need the sun to stay warm, if it’s cloudy, they can’t warm up.

ex: woah, cloudy day? You look like you haven’t slept in months.

Flock brain - (avian) someone who can’t think for themselves. ex: ugh, she’s only hanging out with them now, she’s being a total flock brain.

A hummer with an eagle - (avian) someone who is clearly out of their depth.

ex: are you sure you can handle advanced classes? No offense, but you’ll be a hummer with the eagles.
