To Banish Negative Energy
To Banish Negative Energy
Another from my older book of shadows. Just a simple little jar (or sachet, if you prefer) to help keep your space clear of negative energy.
Ingredients
Sea salt (cleansing)
Bay (banishing)
Lavender (peace)
Rosemary (cleansing dark energies)
Slip of paper with your intention (or you can write it on your bay leaf)
Add all the ingredients to a jar or sachet, focusing on your intention. I also like to burn black candles while doing this, but that's completely optional. This can be as simple, or as complex as you prefer.
Set the final product on a windowsill, nightstand, shelf, etc. Wherever you feel like it best serves your purpose. I also like to place protective crystals next to it to amplify the magic.

Unsolicited Witch Tip #7
Broken heart? It's no permanent fix, but place soothing herbs in a pot of water (I recommend rose, lavender, mint, lavender, and hibiscus) and allow to simmer. Breathe in the steam, accepting a whole and healed heart.
You can also strain out the plant matter, bottle the liquid, let cool, and add to your bath.
Herbalism 101: Mullein
EP. 3

Fun fact! In the 1700s, the United States first used Mullein as a way to poison fish!
Properties: Protection, health, courage
Uses in the Kitchen
Mullein unfortunately is not the best tasting herb. Because of this, it is rarely included in recipes. However, the most common way to consume Mullein is by making it into a tea. This way you can add another herb or tea to balance the taste.
Uses in Healing
One of the most common uses for Mullein, dating back thousands of years, is targeting respiratory issues. The modern use of this is many smokers use Mullein tea to loosen congestion and help clear the lungs. Infused in olive oil is often used to clear ear infections as well.
Uses in Witchcraft
Mullein has many uses in witchcraft, but my personal favorite is keeping a small pouch of it under my pillow and in my purse to help ward off nightmares and bad spirits. Hanging it in your doorways is another effective way to do this. Ground Mullein is sometimes used as a replacement for graveyard dirt in certain spells.
Tips for growing it at home
Mullein is very weed-like, it needs a lot of Sun and is very resilient. This plant is often found in overgrown fields and abandoned buildings. It is also pretty easy to grow from a seed. Early spring is the best time for planting especially if you want to grow it indoors. They do not need a ton of water, but well drained soil is best.
Recipe
Unfortunately, this is not a commonly used herb in cooking. My suggestion is to give mullein tea a try! You can purchase it pre made or you can get straight up dried mullein and make your own!
The person who re-blogged this wants you to know that they are open to questions regarding their spiritual path, witchcraft and faith, and in fact, would love to talk about their spiritual path with you and have a casual talk!!
(this applies to me pspspsps HMU , don't hesitate, i am always open to respectful discussion of our spiritual paths and just being friends!!)

Happy Sunday! Keep sunflowers (real, fake, or sunflower imagery) in your home to promote joy.

Rue's Blessing Blend
I'm currently looking through some of my older books of shadows, revisiting the wisdom of my younger self, and I found one of my first blends and wanted to share.
Portions of each ingredient are entirely up to you and your preference.
Ingredients
Bay Leaf (banishing negativity, manifesting)
Lavender (happiness, peace, love)
Lemon balm (healing, happiness)
Allspice (prosperity)
Lemongrass (protection, opportunities)
Chamomile (luck)
Preparation
This completely depends on what you want to do with the final product.
You can add the ingredients to oil and let them infuse, then use the final product to dress candles.
Add whole ingredients to boiling water to make a simmer pot and/or strain after simmering to make a floor wash.
Grind ingredients with a mortar and pestle and sprinkle over a charcoal disk as a loose incense, use as a floor sweep, or use to dress candles.
