The Ice Rink

A/N: Was not requested. We need more Jin content. Sorry for not doing the requests sitting in my inbox.

Summary: Jin has to film a Run BTS episode while sick. Fever, snz

When Jin woke up with a very sore throat the day before, he knew something was up. Most of the time when his throat slightly hurt after he woke up, it was just because of the dehydration during the sleep. So he drank a ton of water and hoped the annoying pain would go away. But after 5 hours, his head started to slightly throb. 

Seokjin wasn’t as stubborn as the Maknaes, he knew he was sick. He put his hand to his face to feel the temperature, even though most of the time you can’t feel it yourself. This time he could. He layed back on his bed and groaned. Tomorrow he would have to film a Run BTS episode. And it was at an ice rink out of all places. He tried all the home remedies he could think of, tea, cough drops, fever patches, rest. None of it worked. As long as he didn’t alarm the younger members, then he would be fine. 

But someone noticed. Namjoon obviously saw the fact that Seokjin was in his room for a while trying to sleep for 3 hours and making himself tea. He dragged Hoseok away from the other members into a quiet, secluded hallway.

“Joon-ah? What’s the matter?”

“Well...have you seen Jin-Hyung today?” Namjoon asked him, trying to ease into the subject.

“Actually...no I haven’t,” the older rapper admitted, trying to think of what the leader was trying to say.

“I think that he’s sick,” 

“What makes you think that?” Hobi asked, not doubting him, but trying to see if he’s right.

“He has been in his room almost all day trying to sleep. I saw it. And he came out for a little bit and made himself tea. Hyung barely enjoys tea,” Namjoon stated. That was all the proof he had so far, but that was enough for Hoseok.

“Huh, maybe you’re right. Don’t talk to him about it though. Let’s just keep it to ourselves and watch over him, okay?”

“Sure,”

The next day, Jin got somehow...worse. Now, along with the headache and the sore throat, his nose was running and slightly itchy. 

He woke up and immediately had to sneeze, “Hh’KNT’shh-hH! Ngt’shhu!” He sneezed openly in front of him and the small crack in the window’s sunlight illuminated the spray.

He blew his nose in the bathroom and cringed at the sound and how much mess there was. He washed all the mucus off his face. And tried the fever patch again, hiding it underneath his long bangs. He planned to take it off as soon as they left the house.

As Jin tiredly walked into the kitchen. The younger ones were up and already full of energy, like Jin would sometimes be. 

“Hey uh, Jin-Hyung. Are you doing okay? You seem a little bit tired?” Namjoon tried to ask non-suspiciously. Hoseok face-palmed as that was a very dumb thing to do.

“Yeah, yeah. I’m okay. I just couldn’t...sleep well,” Jin tried to think of a plausible lie and he thought it seemed believable, at least it did to the other members. Namjoon and Hoseok...not so much.

“Oh...okay,” 

Unknown to the others, RM and j-hope packed extra things for him, just in case. Seokjin put on a light jacket so he wasn’t cold, but not too hot to aggravate his fever even more. And a scarf for his nose.

After they left and were in the car, Jin sat next to Jimin. Unfortunately for him, a tiny, little itch started in his nose. It was always like that. It would be small, and eventually build-up to a sneeze. And so it did. 

“H’iisshu! H’DDDSHHu!” That last sneezes was harsh, it aggravated his throat even more and he involuntarily whimpered.

“Oh jeez Hyung, are you alright?” Jimin asked. He had not realized that Jin was probably sick, but it wasn’t his fault. The older ones were more attentive than him and the other younger members.

Hoseok and Namjoon glanced at each other and shared a telepathic message, “He’s getting worse.”

They arrived at the ice rink and as soon as Jin stepped in, the cold, icy air made his nose turn a darker shade of pink and run. He sniffled and wiped his nose with the scarf. 

As they started filming, Seokjin tried his best to act like he normally does, all happy and goofy. But it was hard and took up all his energy. He sneezed only twice (thank god) and they were both off-camera and muffled into his scarf. But now the rest of the members were suspicious of him and also figured out he was sick. The filming finally ended, and they all got in the car, Jin being even more tired than he was earlier. He was just glad that it was finally over and he could rest.

Now in the car, he was sitting next to Taehyung this time, who could feel his entire body heat more warm than usual, especially after they just left an ice rink. He put his hand on his face and exclaimed, “You’re so hot!” in surprise at the temperature. 

“I know,” Jin said with a smirk on his face, trying to lighten the mood.

“Hyung...you know what I mean,”

They all arrived home and Seokjin collapsed on his bed, dead tired. Hoseok walked in and put another fever patch on him and made another cup of tea to place on his bedside table. 

Jin woke up to, “Heh’kshuu! Huh’tchu! Eh’sshu!” 3 sneezes and flopped back down onto his bed in annoyance. He hated being sick. He saw the fact that there was a fever patch on his head that he had not put on, strange. He also saw the cup of tea next to his bed, in which he was very appreciative about. He drank the tea all in one right there and it made his throat feel so good. He mentally said thank you to all the members and went back to sleep.

who gets sick more often: gotta go with jungkook on this one.

who is the better caretaker: oh jeez, between the two kids i hafta go with taehyung. im pretty sure hes an okay caretaker.

who is the most needy when they’re sick: jungkook. hes just jungkook yk.

who gets startled/worried every time the other sneezes: hmm, maybe taehyung because jungkook can sneeze a lot.

who stocks the house with cold medicine and orange juice: when jungkook is caretaker, he doesnt rlly know better, so its him.

who is more careful not to spread their illness and who doesn’t care: honestly, jungkook would be more careful when its comes to not getting taehyung sick, but even with that worry, taehyung always ends up getting sick because of their love for each other and (im just kidding guys and i have no idea how to be romantic).

who gets cuddly when they’re feverish: jungkook.

who tries to pretend they’re fine: both.

who tries weird/old-fashioned remedies: once again, from my other post, taehyung.

Yoonmin

who gets sick more often: jimin easily. yoongi doesn't get sick that often.

who is the better caretaker: yoongi, no words. hes a naturul born hyung (not really).

who is the most needy when they’re sick: huh, i gotta say jimin. but they can get close when it comes to neediness.

who gets startled/worried every time the other sneezes: jimin def. because yoongi just doesnt sneeze. its not natural.

who stocks the house with cold medicine and orange juice: yoongi.

who is more careful not to spread their illness and who doesn’t care: both are very careful when it comes to not spreading the illness to each other. but sometimes jimin doesnt care.
