anon, i hope you enjoy what you've awakened. siblings in hockey is such a delicious narrative, and adding some feelings only makes it ten times more interesting. permutations below the cut:

quinn/luke - makes sense, but doesn't compel me (yet). i do think there's something to be said for luke copying quinn in a lot of ways, like switching to being defense, etc. has this big brother who he's so so proud of and maybe if he's just like quinn enough quinn will notice him. doesn't really realise quinn's never looked away once. okay, maybe it does compel me too :))

quinn/jack - makes sense and compels me in a lot of ways. i think at least 90% of the reasons behind why jack is the way he is have to do with quinn. big brother quinn who's indulged and fussed over him since they were tiny and little brother jack who knows he has quinn wrapped around his finger and likes to push occasionally bc he knows quinn will just smile and fold even if he complains about it a little first. tldr, i love them.

jack/luke - my babies. my most specialest boys. of all the pairings this one has to be my favourite. i said in another ask that jack is the baby of the family despite being the middle child, which leads to a funny juxtaposition of him fussing over luke and at the same time being his tactile, spoiled self because it's luke and he won't mind. and then you have luke, who is a bit more snarky and less touchy-feely than his older siblings, but will still let jack tease him and run his fingers through his hair and hug him so so tight hearing they get to play on the same team. luke's big enough now that he could swat jack away if he wanted, but he won't do that, not ever. it's jack, after all.

this one doesn't make as much sense to me as mattdrai, but i do see the appeal. chronically shy and incredibly serious golden child with the weight of destiny on his shoulders meets flirtatious troublemaker whose idea of affection is to annoy the life out of his crush but really just wants to be loved.

is it a good idea? probably not. but matthew might make connor feel just a bit lighter, and connor gets to forget everything resting on him and just be himself around matthew, which is the best he's ever felt in years. add to that their weird thing for being pushed around, and you can't lie they would be interesting.
