As much as we rip on Melli and say that Emmet would instantly hate him, I can 100% imagine them eventually becoming best friends.

When Emmet first met Melli, he thinks 'oh great, a stuck up Karen from ancient times' but the more he hangs out in Hisui, the better his view on Melli becomes.

Melli feels like he's the only one who'd warn Ingo (and now Emmet) about an oncoming snowstorm, would probably even drop of spare food and blankets since he knows they won't be leaving their cave (probably saying that they should be thankful for his gifts or don't say anything, he just happened to have spare) and if the storm goes on for too long, might even check in in a panic.

Melli also would insist on the two either visiting the village more to socialise or visit him more (so they can bask in his presence and not because he gets lonely).

Emmet would definitely realise that Melli isn't as shallow as he seems and does actually care for other and not just himself. Also the two would gossip together, Emmet can deal with Ingo talking his ear off Melli does the same but quieter.

I don’t think Emmet would know what to do with him at first, but he trusts his brother’s instinct and if Ingo says he’s a good dude, he must be cool at least a little.

Dunno if I could see them best friends, but I could definitely see them getting along fine in a sort of rivals way. Competing over silly things for the sake of it and having arguments for fun. Just being dorks

Summary:

Immortality is overrated.

At least, that’s what Volo thinks after spending three centuries with no one but his pokemon for company. He’s tired, lonely, and just wants Arceus to forgive him for that dumb mistake he made when he was basically a baby.

So when he spots a familiar face in a brochure in Unova, he sees it for what it is- a chance to make amends.

(But even after three hundred years, nothing could have prepared him for the wild card that is Subway Boss Emmet)

If Ingo never calls Emmet his brother or ever mention that they look alike, it possible that everyone would just go down the route of Emmet is a zoroark attached to him. Ingo has fallen down from the sky, has a full team of alphas and is the warden of a noble pokemon, him befriending a zoroark probably isn't impossible.

The clans would probably be both happy and sad, happy that Ingo has found someone to truly bond with (outside of Akira) and sad that his loneliness resorted in his treating a zoroark like his own brother. Some people might try and bring it up to him made make it known that they're there for him but won't actually get in the way because of how genuinely happy Emmet makes him.

The only one who actually knows Emmet is human (other than Akira and Ingo) is Melli who is annoyed that not only does no one believe him when he says they're twin but no one believe him when he says that Emmets human.

This sat in my inbox for so long because I was planning on writing a snippet for it. Alas, life had other plans.

The idea though was, that Melli is the only one who ever finds out that Emmet isn't a zoroark... and that's because Ingo asks him to mend Emmet's coat. Gives the man a crisis lol.

Anyway, love this idea!
