i think the popular misconception that Visenya Targaryen hated the Hightowers when in the book she’s crashing in their vacation house as a teenager and allowing them to marry her beloved son stems from wanting to find historical substantiation for the other popular misconception that Daemon Targaryen hates the Hightowers on some kind of inherent targaryen principle and not because he hates Otto so much for taking “his” place as hand and closest confidant of his brother that he decided he had beef with the whole house.

I'm can't say I'm particularly eager for any one dragon, although I do describe Sunfyre as the most beautiful dragon that anyone has ever seen. He looks like he's not a real dragon, but a dragon made of gold. His scales and armor are bright gold, like a flash in the sun. So let's try to capture that when we see him on-screen.

How about: Vhagar is just the stronger dragon and Meleys didn’t stand a chance (there’s also the fact that Vhagar and Sunfyre were supposed to 2v1 the fuck out of Meleys, but we won’t get into that for the sake of my blood pressure). Stick to talking about the actual plot and stop applying modern, frankly sexist takes to a story set in a pseudo-medieval world. It’s also fucking hysterical that Rhaenys can mass murder a whole bunch of smallfolk, take out a good chunk of an army with her dragon, but still be considered free of any wrongdoing because she’s a woman. The most astounding hypocrisy.

It’s Hess who keeps pushing this “women good, men bad” narrative and it has destroyed any credibility this show ever had. On the other hand, we’ve got self-confessed Targ stan Ryan Condal, who loves Daenerys, a female character, and knows full well she never hesitated to say Dracarys a day in her life. Kind of contradicts what Hess is trying to force down our throats, like, entirely. “It’s very male” my ass.

Two conflicting views on how to handle this story, and both quite frankly bad views at that, is what’s making this adaptation so shit. I’m so fucking disappointed I don’t even know what to say anymore.
