Friendly Reminder: Do All The "Childish" Things You Want
Friendly Reminder: Do All The "Childish" Things you want
The fear of being childish is, in itself a childish fear that we can and must learn to outgrow. If you like something targeted for kids, that is okay. Just because you're an adult doesn't mean you forget how to be a kid.
So buy gel pens and and glitter glue and construction paper. You don't have to be in elementary school to do little art projects with crayons or finger paint or wavy scissors, adults need self expression just as much as kids if not more.
Watch cartoons. Put stickers on your wall and your phone and your ceiling. Decorate your driveway with sidewalk chalk. Eat Gushers and Gogurt and drink chocolate milk. Sleep with stuffed animals and pillow pets if it's comforting. Want a little doll with tiny assets and bendable joints just to see how many poses you can put it in? Do it. Do it all.

Okay I keep seeing posts about trans men with big chests finding bras that work to squish things pretty flat. I wore a 44H cup from Lane Bryant... NOTHING got me flat. Not a single thing made me look less than a DD. That's because I had 13 pounds of tissue on my rib cage that can't compress INTO that rib cage no matter how tight I pulled things. No folding, no layering, no doubling up ever was enough for my bf to even notice the size difference. I spent hundreds trying and every time I would be left sobbing in front of the mirror in garbage that left me suffocated and bulging.
THIS HAPPENS... Not everyone has a success story with binding, and I wish I wish that I had found just one person that had said... Hey, it's never going to work at that size but that's okay. It's not your fault.
It's not because you didn't research. Because you didn't TRY hard enough. Sometimes bodies just don't compress. They aren't meant to.
So... it sucks but you're not alone.
For people with anxiety about filing taxes, here’s what things that happen when you make a mistake on your tax return:
- it gets corrected
- you get a letter in the mail either asking for some additional information or a letter showing the adjustment
- you pay the amount (there’s options for payment plans too!) or get a refund
Things that do not happen
- you’re “in trouble”
- you are charged with fraud
- you go to jail
I know that most people are probably just joking/exaggerating when they say a mistake on their return means they get thrown in jail but when I worked with the public I always would encounter people who believed that would happen and they would be panicking about it. So I like to put this out there every year because if I can even prevent one person from feeling that way, it’s worth it
i am giving myself time to grieve the versions of myself i was and the versions i never got to become
Finally someeone put this to words.
It doesn’t matter if you have kids or not- it’s quite possible that your thoughts on childrearing are valid bc you remember being a child and tbh the ppl who act all put upon and pissy about ppl who don’t have kids saying anything about childrearing strike me as odd bc they act like they literally do not identify w children nor do they remember being one.
Oh also self diagnosis is very valid in the autistic community. If you would like to take this official test to help see where you score here it is. This is the actual test they use in the US.

Also this is an unofficial one.
