A simple list for writing women
1. Do not measure/describe female characters by how fuckable they are.
2. Character description is supposed to reveal the interesting aspects of a character. Not just her boobs and legs.
3. Complexity!!! Diversity!!!
4. More than one woman. They talk to each other - about something other than a man
5. Trans women exist. LGBTQIA+ women exist. Women of colour exist. Disabled women exist. And they are just as complex.
6. Body diversity.
7. Not all women love shopping and make up and pink. But those who do are much more interesting than just that
8. Bitchiness between women exist, but there's also a lot of solidarity. Women help other women. Find a balance.
9. Periods. Pregnancy. Basic bodily functions. If you include it, understand it.
10. Subjectivity. Please stop objectifying female characters.
11. In most countries, women live in constant fear of gender-based violence and constantly fight against inequality. Understand.
Sincerely, a female writer and reader. Comment with your own tips. Come on, girls, you know you've read some horrendous things. Let's educate those who want to write better women.
Asdfvhjnjufvhrxf I can’t get the idea of Grimmjow returning to a powerless Ichigo who can’t even see or hear him, so instead of getting a Gifai (bc fuck that shit) Grimmjow communicates with writing. At first he just leaves little messages here and there. The first just says his name. The second answers a long list of questions Ichigo wrote for him and left on the desk—ending with his own question of “What happened to you?” As time goes on they grow closer. Ichigo can feel his presence but still can’t see him—yet at least he knows when Grimmjow is dozzing off on the couch or sitting on the counter, watching him. Grimmjow has been following him around for months now and oddly enough they’ve both gotten used to it. And Grimmjow has taken on the unspoken role as his protector. Defending Ichigo from Hollows and aiding the human in fights where he’s completely outnumbered—and punches the douchebag at Ichigo’s wirk who won’t stop flirting with Ich even tho it’s obvious the guy makes him uncomfortable. When Grimmjow can’t write he communicates by touching, directing Ichigo’s attention or calming him down from a stress rant. And of course this slow burn eventually comes to a boil when Grimmjow cradles Ichigo’s face in his hands, tilts his head back, and kisses him—shocking the hell outta Ichigo. And as their relationship develops Grimmjow starts to randomly press kisses to Ichigo’s skin when he’s deeply focused on school work and even writes compliments in Ichigo’s notebook during class. And Grimmjow becomes obsessed with a human while Ichigo falls in love with someone he can’t even see.
