Some pointers I keep in mind while drawing difficult angles. Posted these on twitter last month.

OMG Another Japanese/Filipino OC YAAAAYYYY!!!!

another BNHA hero OC!! His normal human form and his “Ghost” form. 

He’s still getting developed but he’s fun so far. He’s insecure around strength types since he thinks that is flashier and gets more attention (i.e more useful) but that’s only because he doesn’t fully have a grip on his own powers and how useful they can be. raised  more in the Philippines after his parents divorced but moved back to Japan after his mother died after battling illness for a long time - leaving him with a lingering fear/dislike of hospitals with how often he had to be in them with her.  

When he possesses people he’s not yet strong enough to use their quirks through them but he can at least talk through them and being able to phase through walls makes him good for sneaking. But he runs the risk of letting peoples thoughts/minds mix too much in their minds especially if they are too loud. He has to work a lot on building a stronger barrier between himself and their minds so that it doesn’t warp him too much.

I just realized that in the last couple of years that some cartoons have had specifically Filipino characters as regulars and not just as joke side characters.

Janna Ordonia - Star Versus the Forces of Evil

Sucy Manbavaran - Little Witch Academia

Lars Barriga - Steven Universe

In fact all three of the above characters are only revealed to be Filipino after noticing some clues or finding out about their backgrounds. They are not defined by their cultural backgrounds.

Being Filipino I really do appreciate this subtle level of representation in cartoons these days.
