I find it funny that people are talking about games that have a gacha mechanic, and then I look up specifically the Gacha series, like Gacha Club, and it's just neutral lmao. It fits though, because a lot of people mainly use it for character creation and I find the game portion relaxing, even though it involves a bit of grinding. There is in game currency, but you don't have to use real money to buy it, because you can earn it really easily, and if you don't play the game portion and just you the character creation you don't even need it. There is the actual gacha mechanic of the game, aka gachaing for characters with the in game currency, but like I stated before, it is EXTREMELY easy to earn it and earn other things to level up your characters, and there's even an auto play that lets you grind without actually need to pay attention other than to go to the next level. I find myself comparing it to the old pokemon games in how you grind. Super easy, if a bit tedious at times, but you absolutely do not need to spend money on the game unless you want to. I must say, that I'm mainly referring to the newest instalment in the series, Gacha Club, as I have not played any earlier ones beside Gacha Life, which does have a weird gameplay mechanic, but the character creation is what most people use the series for I think.

Doom guy seeing chief and going oh no i guess he has to be my boyfriend now

The battle rages around him, another landscape destroyed beyond recognition spattered with the blood and gore of demons bent on destroying a dying world. His work is never done yet he persists, venturing out over and over. Vision narrowing to whatever enemy falls in front of him, he allows the deep simmering rage to flare and rear its ugly head as he loses himself in the onslaught.

The Slayer is clearing out yet another UAC building when an armor-clad figure falls through a glowing portal that he knows Vega didn't summon.

Whoever they are, they're quick as a whip and roll out of the way of a Hell Knight bearing down on them. It roars as its first attack misses and the new enemy levels a rifle at its howling maw. A staccato spray of bullets shreds the monster's flesh and it howls in a blind fury, winding up to bring a fist down onto the new soldier on the battlefield.

The Doom Slayer blasts a gaggle of imps into a cloud of viscera and sprints towards his potential ally, too slow to intervene in time. He watches as the hellspawn brings its bloody arm down onto the soldier, their arms raised as if to block the blow.

To his and the Hell Knight's surprise, they do stop the swing. Green armor lighting up gold around the impact as they grab and twist the limb with a sickening crack, shifting their stance and the monster's weight into a throw that downs the beast with a howl. Before it can react and move, a grenade is thrust into the creature's mouth and the soldier sprints with an inhuman speed to cover from the explosion.

The battle rages on and the Slayer continues to be impressed by his new ally. Dodging blasts and fireballs, this new figure adapts to the fight and seemingly accepts demons as an easily defeatable foe. The only issue seems to be a lack of ammo.

The Slayer notices that whoever they are, they only carry two guns and a few grenades and while they are extremely effective in combat, the waves of hellspawn make ammo conservation difficult. They dispatch a cacodemon with their hands, green fist punching through the eye socket of the demon and causing them to land near the Slayer in a mist of blood. They turn that opaque golden visor towards him and nod, and the Slayer notices the rage he usually feels is muted, subdued.

Watching this new player on the field has left him impressed, and maybe feeling something close to hope. He pulls his shotgun out and tosses it over as the shrieks and cries of another wave of enemies fill the air.

This close he can see the body language of the new ally that even he has to look up to, and the number emblazoned on their chest. 117. No UAC symbols mar their armor.

They catch the weapon with ease and pause a moment to examine it. The helmet turns back to face him and with a crackle of a mic he hears a gruff voice call out above the growing din of clamoring demons.

"Are you going to want this back?"

The Slayer grins inside his own helmet. Maybe it's hope, or maybe it's finding a kindred spirit as crazy as he is.
