This Was Done As A Quick Thing For My Illustration Class In Uni Last Year. I Seriously Hate The Way I

This was done as a quick thing for my Illustration class in uni last year. I seriously hate the way I did her torso on this now that I look at it... Oh well, I at least like the colours? Anyway, this is another of my characters, Erzsebet Herdevary (yes, her namesake is a reference to a Hetalia character XD)- she is also from the comic I’ve been working on forever but have made no progress in, haha. Anyway, like usual, this was inked with a pilot g tec black pen in .04 size, coloured with Copic and Prismacolour markers, and the effects were done with Akashiya Sai watercolour brush pens and Lindy’s Stamp Gang magicals (in Mad Hatter Mint and Ponderosa Pine Green).

Another Rapunzel piece (can you tell what my favorite new age Disney movie is yet???)! I started this at school when I had a spare- I honestly just got bored so I decided to draw something pretty, which is the basis for almost all of my artwork, haha. I did this with only a mechanical pencil in a Strathmore sketchbook. Should I put up more sketches?

This is my process of creating a sketch. I start off with a preliminary sketch on simple printer paper so I can get my idea down. Once I have that, I do some splicing after either getting a critique or stepping back. I will write notes- sometimes these ideas don’t make the cut to my final sketch. Sometimes the prelim is what I use in the inking process if I’m happy enough with it, but I will generally re-draw the preliminary sketch into a Strathmore sketch book with all my fixes. Sometimes at this stage I will still need to do a few minor fixes (in this case, I need to shorten the arm on the left and move the right leg closer to the left leg- however, it’s very easy to move the sketch up so I can ink it with no problems. I just have to be careful). I generally use a mechanical pencil (a very simple one- just a Bic brand pencil, nothing fancy) and if I have one on hand, a gum eraser, which is like a vinyl eraser, but softer and easier to get dark marks off the paper. I will ink this once I get some coloured G Tec pens!
Once this is done, we will have a lovely classic lolita Princess Rapunzel. I’m thinking of doing the other Disney princesses, as you can see by my notes on my preliminary sketch! :D

I was debating on whether to upload this or not, but I decided to bite the bullet. I seriously just made this for aesthetic purposes rather than having it be correct. I see a lot wrong with it as it is also an older picture (almost a year old) but I’m okay with how it is. This character is going to be on here again, by the way. Her name is Angelique Blanc and she is part of a comic series that I’ll be working on in the future (it’s been VERY slow and I’ve been working on it for a long time, so don’t expect pages yet lol). If you want to know more about my comic or Angelique, please ask! :D
I of course used Copic and Prismacolor markers for the colouring and then a Pilot G Tec .04 pen for the inking. No gel pens in this, but I used Akashiya Sai brush pens in blues and purples for the sky, as well as a special mica-based powder that you activate with water from Lindy’s Stamp Gang in their Magicals line (I used Tea Pot Purple) for the sky and some of the flowers and other details. Enjoy!

I’m so sorry that I was away for so long- I was busy with vacation and the fact that I’m going to be back in school soon doesn’t help, haha. I also apologize, but I probably won’t be uploading coloured work for a while- it will probably be sketches and doodles until I can find the time.
Anyway, this is a sketch of Sapphire from Steven Universe- I like the show enough to draw the characters, so yeah. However, I’m debating on how I should colour this- should I do this in traditional watercolours or watercolour markers? Oh well, I’ll figure it out. Done in mechanical pencil. Hopefully you like the simplicity of this as much as I do :)
