ID: a lineup of character designs based off The Mechanism's Once Upon A Time In Space. The aesthetic is sci-fi + "fairytale". I mostly looked at pre-raphealite ilustrations, rather than medieval, since i already covered more grounded medieval fashion in HNOC.

Design details
Rose Red: since the blood stains are described as vivid, I think the uniform would have originally be white or cream. (Which links it to King Cole's main color scheme! And if i end up drawing the Alice lineup, I want the King's forces and Rebels to be coded black and white. (to reference Through The Looking Glass.)
She looks like a knight, which mixes suprisingly well with sci fi aestethic! I think a mask would make Snow's fight against her easier. Her armor is based on rose petals, leaves and thorns.

Briar Rose: does BR age during her sleep? For the sake of angst, yes she does. I couldn't decide between shaved or long hair, so i did both. Since she's not moved in many years, her wide frame has wasted away. The wires linking her to the defense grid are mostly in her heart. Also, her outift is white, again linking her to King Cole. (as well as looking clinical)

Original Rose: The torn layers of her wedding dress ended up making it look like bloodstains, which was a happy little accident. Not sure what else to say here, other than Buff Ladies Rule.

General White: For irony's sake, her color sheme is very dark. But the black coat with gold lining is also a reference to the original Rose Red and Snow White fairytale, where a bear's fur is described that way!
I interpreted her "losing most of herself" during her escape as needing a facial prosthetic, which i made resemble a mirror.

Young Snow: the slashed sleeves and color scheme are 100% inspired by disney, sorry not sorry. Her updo also looks a bit like a bob. She is wearing a restrictive looking corset/bodice and a haircomb, to reference the OG fairytale.
The wedding was a formal event, so ballgowns would have been a possible silhoutte, especially for a high ranking diplomat.
Also, "lips as red as blood" translating here into "mouth covered in blood."

Cinders: her dark-tipped hair emphasises how long she's been searching, as well as looking like she's singed. Same with the gradient on her sleeves and legwarmers. She's dressed a lot more informal than the rest: she is poor and idk if she's even officially in the rebel army? So this is closer to everyman-wear.
I dressed her in white to show that she's still hoping to complete the marriage, and her sleeves are wing-like to reference the birds in the OG tale.

King Cole: i heard "ivory throne" and translated it as "bone-like". It works for him. I tried to make him look like he should be long, long dead. His colors are bone white and (dried) blood red. There is little difference in color between him, his crown and his throne (like he's absorbed by it). I made his heart exposed by his life support, because otherwise how did Cinders punch him through it?

Once upon a time, in a far off sector of a very old galaxy...
