"You can't see him at peace can you?" Skikaramu says when he sees Kiba's devilish smile.

"Not really" Kiba replies running towards Naruto, and Akamaru follows him.

"Man, how boring." Shikamaru sighs but follows Kiba.

"Hey Naruto, you won't believe who I just met." Kiba says patting Naruto on the back, making him almost choke on his ramen. "

"Who?" Naruto says with his mouth full.

"Y/n! She was training, and she was looking for you." Kiba says sitting next to Naruto, and sees the blonde's eyes light up as soon as he mentions Y/n's name.

"Why didn't you just say so? Bye old man, the ramen was great!" Naruto says throwing some money on the table, and getting up ready to run towards Y/n.

"Bye guys." Naruto says smiling passing by Shikamaru.

"I don't know what he sees in her." Kiba speaks louder, to make sure Naruto hears.

Naruto stops walking at this, and slowly turns to Kiba.

"What did you say?" Naruto is serious, and Kiba lets out a giggle.

"I just told the truth hey, she's not everything you make her out to be." Kiba says this, and Naruto clenches his fists.

"You're talking about the same person who saved you and akamaru a million times, the person who does everything for everyone, the person who fought valiantly to get the kazekage back, and the person who's been putting up with my shit since I was a kid, so I won't let you talk about her like that, I won't!" Naruto yells, making Kiba stop laughing.

"It's Naruto, take it easy okay?" Kiba says laughing, and Naruto lets go of him, still a little confused.

"What you mean?" Naruto crosses his arms, still suspicious.

"I wanted to tease you, and I happen to know the best way to do it." Kiba says laughing, and Naruto rolls his eyes.

"Come on Naruto, did you really think Kiba would talk about Y/n like that?" Shikamaru asks.

"Did you really think someone would talk about Y/n like that?" Kiba asks still laughing.

"I don't know what goes through you idiots' heads." Naruto says still a little annoyed.

"I might be a bit of an idiot Naruto, but I'm not blind, and that girl really is something else." Kiba says smiling.

"Okay okay, now I need to go, hey was that true? Was she looking for me myself?"

"No, but she's training, if you run maybe she'll still be there." Kiba speaks, and Naruto runs away.

"After that, I just proved my theories right." Shikamaru speaks with a smug smile on his face.

"Naruto is in love, that's all."

"Gaara! How are you doing?" Naruto says invading Gaara's room, giving the redhead a slight scare.

"Naruto, please have more respect." Y/n says entering right behind Naruto, and Gaara felt his heart speed up.

"She is here." Gaara thinks.

"We can do that, we've known Gaara since we were little" Naruto says smiling, and Y/n gives Naruto a light slap on the back of the head.

"It doesn't matter, Gaara is the Kazekage now." Y/n says and gives a slight smile looking at Gaara.

"That beautiful smile." Gaara thinks

"Sorry Gaara, but you know Naruto." Temari says entering the room.

"Don't worry Temari, I'm glad they're here." Gaara says, and looks directly at Y/n who is still lecturing Naruto.

"Do you want something to drink? You must be tired." Temari asks, and Y/n turns to her smiling.

"We're fine, thanks Temari." Y/n responds smiling

"Well, I have some things to do, but let me know if you need anything." Temari says, and closes the door.

"And to what do I have the honor of your presence?" Gaara says looking at his two childhood friends.

"Actually Gaara, we came here to give you an invitation, but actually this bighead lost his way." Y/n says pushing Naruto lightly, and he scratches the back of his neck with an embarrassed smile.

"I'm sorry Gaara, I don't know how I lost."

"But what's the invitation for anyway." Gaara asks seeing Naruto and Y/n's smiles widen.

"It's for a beautiful wedding Gaara!" Y/n says excitedly and Naruto nods in agreement.

"That's right, we're very excited." Naruto says making a high five with Y/n.

"They will marry?" Gaara thinks.

"We really want your presence there, that's why we came here to give you the invitation in person." Y/n says smiling.

"Of course they would end up together one day, it was always them against the world, it was selfish of me to think she could be mine, I can't even be present in her life." Gaara thinks.

"Hey Gaara can you hear us?" Naruto says getting close to Gaara's face.

"Sorry, I was just thinking."

"Are you okay Gaara?" Y/n asks worriedly analyzing Gaara's face.

"I'm fine, but I appreciate your concern." He says looking into Y/n's eyes.

He missed her so much, he thought about her so much every day, and now here she is, inviting him to her wedding with his best friend.

"Well, I'll be very happy to go."

"This is amazing Gaara, you are awesome!" Y/n says smiling brightly at Gaara

"That smile kills me." Gaara thinks as he watches Naruto and Y/n celebrate.

"I also wish you both happiness." Gaara says making them both stop and look at him confused.

"But how so?"

"For your marriage."

"WHAT?"

"Wait a minute Gaara, do you think the wedding is ours?" Y/n asks pointing at her and Naruto.

"I... thought so" Gaara says and Naruto pretends to vomit and earns a slap from Y/n.

"Y/n is awesome and all, but she's my awesome little sister." Naruto says messing up Y/n's hair.

"Why do you always do that Naruto?" Y/n says pushing Naruto and fixing his hair.

"I'm sorry for the misunderstanding Gaara, but I thought you knew that Naruto is like a brother to me."

"Yes just like you, Kankuro and Temari."

"Forgive me anyway." Gaara says, and tries to hide the relief and happiness on her face.

"Trust me Gaara, if Y/n were to marry someone, it would be you." Naruto speaks, and Y/n and Gaara blush.

"Look who's here, sorry I didn't see you two, I was busy, what are you doing here?" Kakuro says entering Gaara's office.

"We live here to invite Gaara to Asuma and Kurenai sensei's wedding." Naruto says excitedly, and Gaara sighs.

"This is so cool, come on, there's a snack waiting for you two." Kanruro says, and Naruto flashes his eyes running towards the door.

"Thank you, thank you, I'm hungry!" Naruto says, and the two leave leaving Gaara and Y/n alone.

The two look at each other a little embarrassed and Gaara gets up, going around the table and facing Y/n.

"I can't believe you thought Naruto and I were getting married." Y/n chuckling softly, and Gaara looks away still embarrassed.

"You guys are so close." Gaara says, and notices the bandage on his forearm.

Y/n follows her gaze, and smiles at the worried expression on her face.

"I did on my last mission, I'm fine."

"I know it can be selfish of me to want you, since I can't be present in your life, but I want you to know that even though your heart isn't mine, my heart is yours, it always has been and always will be." Gaara says taking Y/n's hand and giving a light kiss on the back of it.

"And who told you that my heart isn't yours too huh?" Y/n says holding Gaara's hand, and bringing her face closer to his making Gaara hold his breath.

"She's so close, should I…?" He thinks, and feels Y/n take his other hand as well.

"Stop thinking so much and do something Gaara, it's your golden chance." he thinks again

Gaara closes the space between them and gives a light kiss on her lips, and feels the famous butterflies in her stomach.

This was their first kiss, and Gaara can't remember the last time he felt so happy in his entire life.

"Y/n you're not hungry oh my god sorry to interrupt you guys." Temari says opening the door and making the two quickly walk away scared.

"No, you just scared us, that's all." Y/n says letting go of Gaara's hand and he already starts to miss the warmth of her hand.

"Oh fine, go get something to eat, Naruto told me you were starving." Temari says smiling gently at Y/n who smiles back.

"Alright, we'll talk later Gaara." Y/n leans down and kisses Gaara's cheek, pulling away quickly and walking towards the door.

"You thought they were going to get married, didn't you?" Temari says as Y/n leaves the office.

"It was just a little misunderstanding." Gaara says returning to his chair with red cheeks.

"If they were getting married, you'd have a picture of a married woman on your desk." Temari says laughing, and Gaara looks at the picture on his desk, it was from the day he officially became Kazekage, and of course, Y/n made an effort to go see it.

In the photo the two were side by side, Y/n had her arm hooked through Gaara's and the two were smiling shyly for the camera.

"It means I still have a chance." He says softly but Temari listens.

"I think you always had Gaara." Temari says and Gaara blushes more.
